I went with my family. I got on the dragon.

"So what happened between you and your wife?"

"We sort of, got in some sort of...complication," Lord Zuko hesitated. There was some sort of smile upon his face. Like a slight smirk.

"You know," he called out to his little sister, "I think she was more in love with you than she was with me." He chuckled but behind it was hurt. I don't think he wanted to admitted that. Maybe he also loved my grandmother just as much, if not, maybe more.

"I...okay," was all she was able to say. No shock, no surprise. It was just monotonous, her voice.

"I know you were in love with her. Isn't that why you ran, again?"

It was just silence after that. Azula nor Zuko spat a word right after. But it was awkward for me. The entire ride back to Zao Fu was filled with extreme tension. And all I could think about is what happened between them all? A royal love triangle? That sounds like something that only happens in stories. But if my grandmother also loved Azula just as much, why would she run?

I just want to know what happened.

The city of Zao Fu started to emerge from the distance. Zao Fu was still the same but looked as if it was guarded up heavily. Probably because Su was so worried about the Red Lotus.

"I'm just going to fess up," Azula said, finally breaking the silence, "I was in love with her. I still am. But seeing her with you...it just made me so..."

I notice the tears forming but she quickly wiped them away. Even when wiping, her tears couldn't help but spill.

"I'm still in love with her. That was the reason I ran. Zuko, this isn't your fault or hers. The words I said that day, I didn't mean them. Hoshi is yours and yours only. I shouldn't have butted in," Azula spilled.

"I know. I knew right from the start but I was selfish. You were always suffering weren't you?" Zuko said, still focusing in on Zao Fu. "If there is one thing I know, it's that she never stopped loving you. Hoshi, she loves us both. And she always will but you're the one who truly has her heart. Seeing her around, she would always sit in the study reading your letters, your notes, the notes she took on you. Azula, she never stopped loving you."

"What about you, Zuko?"

"She loved me too but I never had her heart like you did. Yes, she did give me your mother," he says as he gestures to me, "But even after that, that couldn't save our marriage. Although we're together in public, behind the door, we both long for someone we can't have. You can change that for Hoshi but for me, she's gone."

"I'm sorry about Mai again."

It was quiet from there on.
