A/N: Sorry for the late update, I forgot everything in TLOK so I rewatched it to get a better feel and to have no plot holes.

It's been weeks since I saw that guy—or Mako—I don't know how long though. The encounter with him was still weird nonetheless.

"Chief Beifong needs you," one of my coworkers said to me.

"Alright I'll be there," I responded to them. I got up from my desk and began walking to the Chief's office. I knocked on the door hesitantly. This woman was absolutely scary. Like, how mean can someone's face be.

"Come in," she said firmly. I walked up with my posture up and confident but really I felt like I was going to die. Had I done something wrong? "Starting tomorrow, you will be Mako's partner in the Investigation and Detectives' division. You will be in placed in Zao Fu along with me as well to find the airbenders that have been popping up recently," she told me. "Yes ma'am," I sounded off. My cool exterior couldn't make up for the fact that I was literally screaming inside. "You're dismissed." I walked out the office, stoic as ever.

"Me?," I thought to myself, "I can't even believe this." My mind was ecstatic. It was in quite a state of shock. "Oh, but that Mako guy," I just remembered, "I hope it won't get too awkward over there. I think he almost cried when we met." I brushed it off and tried my best to not remember the encounter.

As I walked out the Chief's office, there were people lining up against the walls of the hallways—like there were spying or something. "So," one girl said to me, "What happened in there?" They all act like we're friends but I really couldn't care any less about them. I think they talk to me because I'm good at my job. "Nothing really," I simply said to her. "What was this chick's name again," I thought to myself as she looked down upon me. She was either tall or I was either short. "You can't just say that," someone from behind said in such a deep voice, "let's go out later at the Club to get some drinks," the person suggested. I nodded quickly and walked down the hallway to get back to my workspace.

It was about time I had a desk of my own and coincidentally, it was next to Mako's. I looked over to see the empty desk. It was kept neatly like no one has ever touched it. I guess that's what happens when you get promoted. As the time went by, the hangout was getting closer. And I was not looking forward to it.

There were two knocks on my desk. My eyes were still on my paperwork until a voice broke me from my focus. "C'mon," a different girl said and glared. She had brown locks and I remember her because she was flirting with my partner a few weeks ago, but it didn't work. I looked at her first then looked behind her. "Oh it's them," I thought to myself and mentally sighed. "Let me just pack up," I said to them. I quickly packed my stuff and put the paperwork away and headed towards them. "I know a good club right around the corner," the same person who suggested the plan said, "Ae-Cha, don't over drink tonight." I think he was talking to the tall girl. "I promise I won't Amaruq." They both share a laugh while I'm left with the glaring girl staring me down. "What does she have against me," I thought to myself.

We all approach the club and as we open the door, the room was filled with loud music. The sounds of wrong-fitting notes rang through my ears—it almost made me want to dance. Amaruq led us to the bar and signaled the bartender. "Four Brandy Alexanders, please."

"So," the brown-hair girl said to me, "What's it like working with Mako?" As soon as that topic came up, all eyes were on me. "There's nothing much to it," I said to her, "I mean I could tell how much you want to work with him as much as I could tell how much you want to fuck him but that's none of my business." I clearly never had a filter but this time I could clearly see the girl getting red. "Okay, Mina," Ae-Cha said to her trying to calm her down, "I don't think Ryujin meant any harm. "I meant all the harm," I thought to myself, "you don't glare me down like the little bitch you are." I had to hold back my tongue or else more feelings would get hurt. "This bitch acts like she owns Mako's dick like it's hers," Minah began to ramble, "But everyone knows that me and Mako have chemistry. He wants me and I'm literally so close." I could care less about her boy troubles so I walked away. Amaruq and Ae-Cha looked at me while Minah got up and followed me outside.

As I exited, she pulled me by my shoulder and turned me around. As she was about to slap me, my reflexes stopped her and twisted her arm. I could see her yelp in pain and I let go. "Sorry about tha-," as I was about to say but she came in with a fiery punch—literally—but I quickly dodged it. "I don't want report you to Beifong," I quickly said, hoping it would change her mind. Luckily, the other two came out and held her back. "I'm gonna head out for the night," I said and bid a farewell.

I walked down the dimly lit street. My apartment wasn't too far but it felt far. While walking home, I came across a shady looking guy. He wore all blue like a water bender. "Hey," he said casually, "I don't expect you to remember me but you left this awhile back." He handed me a pair of gloves that could fit a child. Before I could say anything, the water bender walked past me. "That was...strange," I thought to myself and continued walking home.

A/N: So yea, who's the guy?
