Ryujin POV

"Ryujin, I...I lo-," but he was soon interrupted by a hefty grunt.

"C'mere," Azula called out to me, "There someone I'd like you to meet."

I dropped my hands from his and walked towards the two.

"This is Lord Zuko. My brother. In other words, your grandfather," she introduced. I could sense the gagging in her voice. It was humorous.

But however, Lord Zuko was on the verge of tears.

"I...I thought you were dead," his voice cracked, "We sent out so many searches but nothing. Nothing came up." He pulled me into a hug, a hug full of grief and regret. A hug full of sadness and joy.

"I'm just so glad you're alive."

"So does this mean," Bolin asked, "That you're actually a princess? Am I childhood best friends with 'the' Fire Nation Princess?"

"I'm not a princess. I'm still a regular civilian just like everyone else here," I responded but it seemed Bolin was still shocked and surprised by everything.

"It's nothing really," I tried to reassure but it still didn't work.

I walked back to Mako's side and tried to avoid his gaze at any means at all.

"Uh, so what happened to you guys," Asami asked awkwardly. Did I come at a wrong time?

"Well, nothing too drastic. I was just searching for you guys but the Red Lotus kind of got in our way, I guess," I responded, "I think it's only been two days since we last saw each other? No?"

"Well, it's been long," Bolin cried, "I thought you were a goner." He threw his body onto me, wrapping me into a weeping hug.

"I...uh...it's okay, Bolin," I nervously comfort him.

"We were captured by Zaheer and taken to Ba Sing Se," Mako said, explaining what had happen to him and his brother in these past few days. "We were there when the Earth Queen was overthrown."

"What?!" Korra exclaimed, "How did you escape?"

"Zaheer let us go," He answered.

Korra was confused, I could tell by her expression. "Why would he do that?"

"Because he wanted us to find you and deliver a message," Bolin said with a tinge of shake in his voice.

"Zaheer is headed to the Northen Air Temple as we speak," Mako mentioned, "He said he's gonna wipe out the new air nation and everyone in it, unless you turn yourself over to him."

The entire mood switched. An uncomfortable atmosphere was filling in the spaces.

"Don't you think you should've mentioned that first," I asked, "What if he's already there?"

"Zaheer's threatening innocent lives," Korra's voice shakes, "just to get to me."

"He could be bluffing," the tall water-nation male said.

"Or he's probably there already," I brought up.

"He's already taken out the earth queen. I don't think he bluffs," Mako said—which was true.

"We need to radio Tenzin and warn him that the Red Lotus is coming," Korra said.

"I agree," Mako turned his attention to Korra, "Unfortunately, we don't have a radio on the airship."

"There's a portable radio in the jeep," the water-nation male spoke, "But the signal will never make it to the Northern Air Temple."

"We should probably get into contact with the metal clan on the way there," I suggested, "At least that way, they'll have an idea on what's happening and by the time we get there Tenzin should already be updated or possibly safe. If Zaheer isn't already there," I whispered that last part.

"We need to get to a place that has a strong radio transmitter," Chief said, "The metal clan will have one."

"Let's go," Korra was determined. "We'll radio Su on the way. Hopefully she can get ahold of Tenzin at the Air Temple by the time we get to Zaofu."

The circle of people nodded and dispersed. I walked off to Lord Zuko and Grandaunt Azula, who were actually somewhat getting along?

"Uh...well this is new," I said to the pair, "I thought you guys hated each other."

"That was a few minutes ago. Ryujin, do you have that thing," she asked me. I shrugged wondering what she was talking about.

"Oh never mind. Just give this to your wife when you have the chance," she pushed the small envelope towards his chest.

"She's not really my wife anymore. We got a divorce," Lord Zuko nervously spat out. There was a shock expression written all over the old lady's face.

"This is a conversation for another time. Right now, we're all heading to ZaoFu in hopes we get in touch with Tenzin," I updated them, "I'm going to go ride with one of them and you guys can take the dragon," I shrugged, almost unsure with myself. They stared at me confused but I knew they weren't confused about the mission. It was a family matter.

"Yea...bye."

I ran off in search for Mako. I was hoping I could catch a ride on the airship. Being stuck with those two oldies wasn't really my ideal situation.

As I looked around, my back bumped into someone. Luckily, it was the person I was looking for.

"Just the person I was looking for," I jumped gleefully, "Look, I want to ride on the air ship with you. I don't want to be stuck with 'family issues' over there," I laughed. My head turns back to watch the two bickering again, as it should be. But I could hear a faint mumble coming from Mako.

"Did you say something," I asked him. But he shook his head. So I shrugged back.

"I think you should go with them," he sighed. I could tell just from his body language that he didn't want to send me off. So why is he?

"They're your family. Your biological, in fact. And you only get one of that," he places both his hands on each side of my shoulder, "Ryujin, you're no longer alone."

I shook off his hands with my shoulders and turned harshly. "If you didn't want me on there, you could've said no." I walked back to the two, leaving Mako back to his crowd.

A big chunk of me wanted him to let me go on the ride with him. All I want is to be beside him. I just wanted his company though-out these stressful times but he must be as stressed as I am.
