part 21

{Ayla's POV}

There was no more pain. I woke up and a harsh light was above my head and it felt like it was burning my eyes as I ried to open them. The last thing I remember is being in the hall and hearing Riven speaking. Oh, everyone who we left back there I don't even know if they are okay.

"Ayla? You awake?" It was Beatrix and her face soon came into view. I nodded slightly worried I would cause more pain to myself.

"How are you feeling?" I could hear the worry in her voice and her being here brought me comfort, although times like this when I wished my parents were here to bring me comfort like they always do.

I nod again and try to sit up, I did it surprisingly easy and with minimal pain from my stomach anymore. It was now covered in bandages as I looked down, not even trying to touch it or mess with it anyway.

"I'm alright Bea, but how are all of you? Did you all make it out of the forest alright after me Riven and Sky?" I was more concerned for them than myself eventhough I was practically dying, slowly but surely.

"We all made it out. After you were attacked they all backed off and we didn't hear from them again. They've also been off any radar Alfea has which has definitely confused Dowling." Weird, why would they leave once I was attacked. I don't have the strength to think about all that right now.

Then, all the girls came into the room and Beatrix slowly exited probably back to her dorm and she gave me a little smile as she went. "Ayla!! We came once we realized you were awake." Flora was beaming and I was so happy to see them all.

I gave them a smile but then I realized I didn't know the time or the day, "Umm guys, how long have I been out for exactly?"  How much exactly had I missed.

"You've been asleep since yesterday late afternoon. It's now 11am, and it's Saturday," Holy shit, okay that's quite a while. Well, I half expected to have missed that much but it's better than most people would be getting.

"And uh what about Riven?" I didn't know how he was feeling and I just wanted to see him and have him be with me right now, "Non of us have properly spoken to him since yesterday but I'm sure he's alright." Aisha gave me a trying to be reassuring smile but I wasn't convinced.

Then Dowling entered the room and the girls left for the suite or whatever they were doing. We said our goodbyes and Dowling began to speak, first checking on me then questions.

It was about 1pm when Dowling left, so 2 hours of questions about what we were doing, why I think they attacked and I had no answer for that second one. She must have asked the others all this before but I guess that wasnt enough. Now it's 6pm and I just woke up fro  a 5 hour nap, still in the medical area.

All I wanted now was to get back to my suite and so the nurse treating me cleared me to go back but I had to take this elixir with me to stop the spread of poison from the scratch.

I made my way to the room and as i entered, Aisha and Flora were there to greet me, "Ayla! thank God you're back now, you had us so worried." Flora of course was speaking quickly but I a somewhat composed manner.

"Trust me, I am so happy to be back here instead of that hospital bed," I laughed with them and made my way to my room with Aisha. Musa and Stella later came to say hi and gave me hugs which I really needed.

Aisha spoke to me for a bit, just about school, and then we got onto the topic of him, "So, about Riven.." I didn't let her continue before I got stupidly defensive, "What about him?"

"Well, I know you haven't spoken to him since but any messages or now do you feel after everything?" I mean after all this, I'm surprised I feel as strongly about him now as I did before, "Honestly I still feel the same way, I just really wish he would speak to me."

I was sad to not have had a visit from him or even just a message, but I guess he felt guilty or something, I don't even know. That evening went by quick because all I did was talk, listen to music and I did end up calling my parents. I still needed to tell them about everything but maybe in a while but speaking to them made me feel more at ease about everything.

-Sunday-
It's 12 already and I don't even remember falling asleep but here I was. I had to go to the bathroom and get ready which I did, and then I lightly applied some of the mixture made by Professor Harvey to my wound. It didn't cause me much pain, only a dull ache at most which was good compared to what it could be. Silva had a walking stick for God sake.

I made it back to the room, took off my pyjama shorts and put on a pair of black joggers, along with an oversized  white tee with a cross hatch black pattern on it which I found at the bottom of my wardrobe. It was comfortable at least.

The girls had all let me know they were going to be out and doing whatever but to call if I needed anything. Ms Dowling said she wouldn't need to talk to me today and that I should rest but still be attending classes tomorrow, unless it gets very bad.

Aisha was out on a swim of course and was going to meet up with Musa and Flora in the town afterwards and eat something and one of the cafes. Stella was out with some of her friends in the second year, along with Sky and I was guessing Riven. There was still no word from him at all and I admit it hurt a lot.

Beatrix messaged me at least and said she would be with Dane and a few other friends today but if I needed anything or wanted to hang out we could. I would love to, but I would live to see or hear from Riven more. Plus, I miss being called 'Firefly'.

I decided on messaging him:

Ayla
Hey, I was wondering
if you wanted to meet or
talk at all?

10 minutes, 30 minutes, one hour, 2 hours and still no reply from him. It was now 3 in the afternoon and all of the girls were back now except for Stella and Musa who had decided to go see Sam for the day.

Fuck this. I told Aisha I was going on a walk, when in reality it would be quite a short lasting one as I made my way across and through the hallways linking the boys and girls dorms. Then I stopped at his door and simply knocked.

He opened it and his face went from emotionless to surprise and... guilt?
This was it, finally getting to see him and find out where the hell he's been, well that's what I hope for..
