Lucy's POV

Why was I getting ready? I repeated over a thousand times in my mind over the course of the past hour.

You aren't together anymore. I don't care about him and he doesn't care about me. Let him go.

But I can't.

I just want to make sure he's okay. That's all it is.

But is that really all it is?

I slipped on my shoes and grabbed my keys. My aunt was at a photoshoot so I didn't need to tell her where I would be spending my day.

I locked the door behind me and walked down the long driveway to my car, got in the drivers street, and pulled out into the road.

Turn the car back around and go back home. He isn't worth it. Management told you the horrible things that these boys have done. They aren't your friends anymore and this isn't worth it.

Management makes things up all the time for the media, you should know this by now. But I don't know this by now. I have been brainwashed and told to do whatever the audience expects of me to do, so I do it.

I arrived at their LA house and parked in their surprisingly large, driveway. Is it too late to go back home? I could leave right now and no one would notice.

It was as if my brain wasn't cooperating with my body because next thing I know, I'm stepping out of my car and walking up the steps to the front door.

I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath before knocking. I'll just be in to check on Calum and out of here as fast as possible.

"Hey Lucy, come on in!" Ashton greeted me as he held the front door open.

"Hi Ashton." I smiled at him and walked in.

"Wasn't expecting you to come over today." He said awkwardly as he scratched his neck.

"Oh, I was just here to check on Calum and leave." I informed him.

"You know where to find him." Ashton said walking off towards the kitchen.

To get to Calum's room I had to walk through the living room where Victoria, Michael, and Luke were. I really did not want them knowing that I was here.

I walked into the living room as quietly as I could and almost got to the stairs when Victoria stopped me. "Where are you going?"

"To the bathroom." I lied.

"Lucy."

"Victoria."

"Tell me the truth." She pressed, her hand still on my arm.

"I was going to check on Calum." I said so quietly that I could barely even hear myself.

"Calum's fine. Besides, we're going out for a girls day remember?" I took notice in her outfit. She was already ready for the day. Then I remembered that I was too. I can't remember the last time I stepped out of the house when I wasn't wearing something designer or at least had a proper outfit on.

"But-" I started.

"No but's. Come, let's go say goodbye to the others and then we'll be on our way." She took my arm and dragged me into the living room behind her.

Michael and Luke had their guitars in their laps and they were obviously writing songs together, we shouldn't disrupt them. Ashton was still in the kitchen making eggs and Calum was upstairs, which is where I so desperately wished I was.
