Chapter 7: Falling

Chapter 7

Katniss P.O.V.

Glimmer has something important to tell us girls. I don't know what it is and I'm curious. She said it was a surprise. I hate surprises. I hate them! And she knows it.

I don't know if I should act ignorant, like I don't care what she has planned, or angry.

"So what do you think she wants?" Annie asks as we walk up to her house and press the doorbell.

"Would be we here if I knew?" I giggle.

"Guess not", Annie says as the door opens.

"Finally!" Glimmer says and pulls us into the house.

Glimmer pulls us into the living room where I see that everyone are waiting. Even Mellark. What the hell is he doing here?

As we enter the living room, Mellark winks at me and I roll my eyes.

I plop down in the couch with a loud sigh.

"Glimmer time to tell what's up", I say.

"Okay okay okay", she says as she claps her hands excited. "Okay okay um aah this is so exciting!"

"Marvel! Tame your girl! She's freaking out!" Finnick says.

"Nooo she just wants to tell you that our father bought us all a house to live in our senior year", Cato says bored.

"Cato! I wanted to tell them!" Glimmer shouts angrily.

"I know, but you took such a long time", Cato says. "And it's annoying sis".

But I don't even listen anymore. I stopped focusing when I heard what Cato said. Are we all going to live together? We're going to rip each other's throats.

"What? Me too?" Mellark asks confused.

"Of course silly", Glimmer says. "Why not you too?"

"Well... First of all, Katniss hates me", Mellark says. "And second of all, Katniss hates me".

"No she doesn't", Finnick says.

"You're not the one to speak for me Finn!" I hiss, and then turn to Mellark. "And as I said, I don't hate you, I strongly dislike you".

"Okay well she strongly dislikes me", Peeta says mimicking my voice.

"Are you mocking me Mellark?" I hiss and give Mellark the evil eye.

"Maybe I am", Mellark says. "Problem with that Everdeen?"

He's starting to fight back. He has been doing that nowadays.

I take that as a challenge.

"If you think even for a second that..." But I get interrupted.

"Okay don't start you two", Annie says.

"I..." I start but get interrupted a second time.

"We don't care! You two have got to learn how to get along, we love you both and we are both your friends", Clove says. "Fine if you don't like each other but at least get along! Geez!"

"Ugh fine", I say.

"Fine by me", Mellark says and winks at me. "I'm gonna be a really, really good boy".

Finnick bursts out laughing and raise his hand to high five Mellark, who slaps his hand against Finnick.

"Why you little..." I scream and jump up on his back and startsto ruffle his hair with both of my hands.

When I hear him laughing I start to pull his hair instead. I pull it up the hardest I can, and I hear him whimper.

"Katniss! What are you doing?" Annie shouts.

I feel a pair of arms wrap around my waist and pull me down. Finnick. He's laughing though, so he isn't his strong self. Usually Finnick is really strong, since he's working out at the gym and is a football player, but he's laughing so much right now and I'm clinging on with my legs around Mellark's waist and my hands pulling his hair even harder when Finnick is pulling me.

Annie grabs Finnick's waist to help him by pulling him.

Suddenly Mellark loses his balance and falls backwards towards Finnick. Annie doesn't have time to step aside so Finnick falls backwards onto her.

Poor, poor Annie, I think as I realize what's gonna happen.

When Annie finally loses her balance she falls down onto the floor, with Finnick falling over her, crushing her, pulling me with him. And because I still have my firm grip around Peeta's hair, he yelps and falls over me. We all end up in this lump on the floor with Annie under the three of us.

"I ... Can't ... Breathe", I hear Annie's choked voice.

"Annie oh my god!" Finnick says panicked.

Considering that Annie got two buff boys who plays football and works out, plus me over her, I don't think she feels so good right now.

Finnick pushes me aside from him so I hit the floor with my back and Finnick stands up, witch causes Mellark to flip over and end up onto my legs with his face onto my stomach. I gasp out of breath as his face hit my stomach hard.

"Annie oh my god! Are you okay?" Finnick asks panicked as he pulls Annie up on her feet.

I'm still too much out of breath to stand up.

Mellark quickly moves aside and stands up. He takes my hand and helps me up. When I'm on my feet I jerk back my hand.

"That was seriously the funniest thing I've seen in my entire life!" Cato laughs. "And it's going up on YouTube!"

"No it's not!" I say.

"Oh yes it is!" He says as he lowers his iPhone.

"You wouldn't dare", I say threatening making my voice dark and scary.

"Oh you know I would", he says laughing evilly.

And I know he would. In this group we're all out to torture and humiliate it each other for the fun of it. Oh god that sounds mean. But that's the way we are. We're mean. But it's fun, we all laugh at it.

"Cato..." I start.

"It's out! And now I share it with my Facebook account", he says.

I sigh frustrated. Great! Now everyone will see how Mellark falls with his face onto my stomach!
