Chapter 5: Mall

Chapter 5

Katniss P.O.V.

After school the girls wants to go to the mall. I agree because I want a latte. I have serious caffeine issues.

The girls and I ride in my car. I love my car, it's green and cute. At first I didn't like driving, since my dad died in a car accident. But when I got used to it, I loved it and it's good to have a car.

"Are the guys coming after football practice?" I ask.

"Yeah Finnick said they would", Annie says.

I hope Mellark doesn't come with. I would not want to be seen with him in a mall.

I pull up at the malls big parking lot.

When we come into the mall, we run for the coffee shop. We all buy our lattes and walk around.

"Oh my god! Katniss you have to buy this!" Annie suddenly exclaims and stops outside a store.

I look at what she's pointing at. She's pointing at an orange tight dress. It's actually really beautiful.

"Hm..." I say and throw my coffee cup into a trash can before walking into the store.

The girls follow me. I look more closely at the dress. It is beautiful. I take it and walk to the fitting room. The girls are waiting excited outside. I try on the dress.

I walk out of the fitting room. The girls mouths drop to the floor and they look at me with big eyes.

"Doesn't it look good?" I ask, starting to doubt if I should buy it or not.

"No it looks amazing on you!" Annie says. "You look so hot in that dress!"

"Really?" I ask and turn to the mirror.

The dress is orange and tight, it forms after my curves, it's glittery at the cleavage and it shows off my boobs a lot.

I like it. It looks good.

"Okay I'll buy it", I say.

I walk back into the fitting room to change back into my clothes.

I walk back out to the girls who are smiling big.

"You're weird", I say as I walk to stand in the line to pay for the dress.

"Oh we know but you love us", Clove smiles like a goof.

Yah, something's going on. But I don't want to know what it is.

I pay for the dress and we walk out of the store.

"Hey girls!" I turn around to see Finnick and Gale come walking towards us.

"Where did you leave the others?" Madge asks kissing Gale's cheek.

"They're coming", Gale says.

I link my arm with Annie's and lean my head on her shoulder.

Finnick starts to get his puppy eyes showing in his eyes.

"Finn..." I start.

"Please kiss!" He says. "It would be a dream come true!"

What is it with guys wanting to see girls kiss? Are they turned on by seeing it?

"No!" I say.

"Please please please please!" He begs. "Kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss..."

"Alright!" I shout wanting him to shut up.

I turn with my face to Annie. I grab her face and give her a big tongue kiss.

When I pull away I see that the other boys has arrived.

Mellark is sliding up his sunglasses on top of his head. He raises his right eyebrow.

Finnick on the other hand looks like he just became a millionaire.

"Happy?" Annie asks him.

"So happy", he says with the biggest smile someone can achieve.

I roll my eyes.

"Boys are stupid", I say. "What did you get out of that?"

"You don't wanna know", he says still smiling like a goofball.

Oh ew.

"Finniiiiick", I whine.

"You asked!" He says.

Ugh.

"That was pretty hot", Mellark says.

I roll my eyes again. Boy are stupid. It's not like us girls would ask boys to kiss just to turn us on.

We start walking around the mall again.

Suddenly two men come running towards us. One with a pad and pen and another with a camera. Great.

"Peeta! Is this your friends? How are they treating you? Are they being nice? Is this girl your new enemy?" The journalist babbles. "When are you going to answer our questions?"

"When pigs flies", Mellark says smiling a false smile at the journalist.

"I didn't know you could fly!" I say looking at him.

"Katniss!" Annie says.

We start to run away from the two men. We run up to the other floor of the mall.

I hope they don't follow us. But I don't think they are because they would already be here.

I hate this. If Finnick is insisting on having Mellark in the group, we'll be dealing with this all the time. I don't want that. I want to stay normal. I don't want to be seen as the girl who hates Peeta Mellark over the whole country.
