Chapter 30

Katniss P.O.V.

I'm worried about Peeta. Really worried. I wanna know what's going on with him. He's hiding something, I know it.

He told me that he'll tell me when he's ready but I don't know when that'll be.

I'm trying to be patient, I really am, but it's hard. Especially since I realized how much I like him. No love him. But I haven't told him that I love him.

"Annie, can I talk to you for sec?" I ask her as I walk into the living room where she's sitting in Finnick's lap. There's only them, Peeta and I in the house at the moment. "You know... Alone".

She looks at me and frowns. I think she can hear at my voice that something isn't right.

"Sure Kat", she says and stands up.

"Feel free to do whatever you want", Finnick says with a devilish smile and Peeta chuckles.

"Oh grow up Finnick", I say tiredly and he frowns.

"What happened to you? Usually you'd snap at me or threaten me or something Katniss-ish", Finnick says and straighten up.

"Something happened baby?" Peeta asks and looks worried.

I shake my head no.

"I just have to talk to Annie", I say.

I take Annie's hand and drag her up the stairs, and into my room. I walk to sit down on my bed and Annie follows.

"What's up Kat?" She asks.

I look out of the window. The sun is shining outside, so I don't know how we ended up staying in all day. I guess we're lazy-asses. The sun shines in Annie's hair, making it look like real flames.

I don't know what to say actually. I mean I know what I want to talk about, but not how to say it, how to express it in words.

"I'm..." I start, trying to find the right words.

"God Katniss no!" Annie says as her eyes widen and I frown. What? "Please don't tell me your pregnant".

I raise my eyebrows.

"You do know you have to have sex to become pregnant right?" I ask her.

Annie relaxes and exhales deeply.

"So you haven't?" She asks.

I shake my head.

"Are you nervous? Is that what you wanted to talk about?" She asks. "It isn't that bad, I mean yah it hurts at first but..."

"Annie I didn't drag you up here to talk about sex", I interrupt her. "It's not like I don't know anything about sex just because I'm a virgin, I'm friends with you girls you know, and you never stop talking about it".

"Right", Annie giggles. "So what's up?"

"It's ... Peeta", I say.

"Are you having second thoughts?" Annie asks.

"God no! No no no, don't tell anyone this but... I have a strong feeling I'm in love with him", I say.

Annie gives away a low scream of happiness and I smile at her.

"But that wasn't it, was it?" Annie asks and I shake my head.

"No it was not", I say. "I'm worried about him".

Annie lifts up her legs on the bed and cross them. "Why?"

"Well he's been behaving odd", I say.
