Chapter 48: Play

Chapter 48

Katniss P.O.V.

It's the last month in school. Everyone are really stressed. I'm one of the stressed once because I'm still trying to catch up and I'm in the middle of a lot of make up tests so I can pass and graduate with my class.

I'm gonna do it. I have to do it. I am going to make it. Yes I am yes I am yes I am.

Peeta is helping me with the math and geography, my weakest links. I'm really happy I have a boyfriend who is smart, so I can get help.

Tonight we have the premier of our play. It's making me nervous. I have all this studying to do and tonight is the play. Plus I have the main role in the play. I had to study the lines as a manic, because I have a lot.

I hate this. I'm gonna be so happy when this is all over. Really happy.

I feel a pair of arms sneak around my waist as I flip through the script.

"I could help you practice", he says, kissing my neck. "Maybe we could practice the kiss..." He flips me around, making me face him.

"Ahh", I say and throw away the script. "Well how should we present it in front of everyone? Short, or loving, or hot, or passionate or hot and passionate?"

"Maybe the last one", Peeta says with a sly voice.

"Mhm?" I mumble and nib on his lower lip, moaning.

Peeta moans in wanting as his hands slides from my waist to my butt, making me moan. It's actually the first time we can manage to get this close without me jerking away crying or screaming.

I put my lips to his and his tongue into my mouth and the kiss turns steaming hot.

Peeta senses that I'm not gonna jump away this time, so his hands squeezes a bit making me moan louder.

"Oh my god", I hear a familiar voice say.

Peeta and I jump apart to see Finnick and Annie stand there in front of us. Well since we are in the living room I'm not really surprised, but it still made me really embarrassed.

"I..." I start. "Um..."

"Okay under normal circumstances I would be giving Peeta a speech where I threaten to hurt him if he hurts you, but now I have something else in mind", Finnick says stepping closer.

"Um...?" Peeta looks at me and I feel just as confused as he looks.

"It been so long since we've seen Katniss show real affection, she's been too terrified, if anyone happened to touch her they got a fist in their eye, and whenever you've tried to be... Well um..." Finnick has a problem getting the word out. I look at him, daring him to say it. But he just can't.

"Intimate", Annie says.

"Um yeah that's the word, you've been screaming or crying or ran away and it's made us wonder if you've ever going to be okay again, but this just proves that you are going to be okay, you're letting people in again", Finnick finishes.

I smile at him.

"You're a very sweet big brother", I say and kiss his cheek.

"Oh I know", he says and then turns to Peeta. "About hurting Katniss..."

"Yeah, dude you gave me that speech", Peeta says. "Four times already".

"Hm! Really?" Finnick asks.

"Yes!" Annie and I say.

"Oh well", Finnick shrugs.

We start to rehears the play instead. There is not a lot of the play where Peeta and I are together, since our characters only get together in the end, hence the kiss. But we are friends throughout the play.
