Chapter 32: First time

Chapter 32

Katniss P.O.V.

"It would be an honor if you could sleep here tonight", mr Mellark says after dinner, looking at his son with pleading eyes. "For old times sake".

Peeta looks at me, giving me a look that tells me that it's totally up to me. That he's fine with whatever.

But at this point I do know Peeta. I've learnt to see how he behaves when he's, happy, angry, sad, irritated and annoyed. I've learnt to see secret messages in his eyes. I can finally say I know him. Which is good since he's my boyfriend and all. So now when he look at me I can see that he's trying to hide the fact that he actually do wants to stay here over the night even though he makes it my choice.

I nod my head to him with a smile. He smiles sweetly at me before turning to his dad.

"That sounds great dad", he says.

"You can show her your boy room", Logan says devilish and wiggle his eyebrows.

"Shut up you perv", Peeta hisses back.

"Aww but you're sooo cute together", Logan says. "And Peeta's never had a girl in his boy room before, this is a very special day".

"Say Logan? Isn't it hard to breath with your head so far up your ass?" I ask dryly which causes the other Mellark's to burst out laughing.

I said it to be mean, because I wanted to defend Peeta. That was mean of Logan to say. I don't think that Peeta felt offended, they're brothers after all and used to tease each other, but I felt offended for him.

Peet wraps his arms around me, still laughing.

"If it's possible, I think I love you even more now", he whispers in my ear and I smile big.

"This girl is definitely one of us", James says. "I love her! There's a lot of fire in her, you did good finding her Peeta!"

"I know", Peeta says and strokes my hair proudly. "She's the best".

"You do seem happy, my son", Peeta's dad says happy. "Finally you do".

I frown and bite my lip.

James seem to see it. He looks curiously at me.

"You know right?" He asks. "About our..."

"Mother?" I interrupt him. "I do, kinda hard not to with all his bruises".

This time Logan frowns and his smile is long gone. And he gets a protective expression in his eyes.

"You told us and dad that she stopped", he says and the three of them looks at Peeta.

Peeta looks at me and I realize that I said something he didn't really want to get out. He sighs.

"I told you that because you didn't have to know that she still does it", Peeta says low.

"Yes we do Peeta", mr Mellark says sternly and stands up. "I'm gonna go call her and tell her to just stay in Canada, she's no longer welcome in this house or the bakery".

Logan flies up from the chair and slams his hand into the table.

"Oh yeah! Go dad!" He says.

Mr Mellark rolls his eyes and walks out of the kitchen. Logan runs after him, mumbling he has to hear it to believe it could be true. James sits on his chair but looks around a little awkwardly when he realizes that Peeta has started to snuggle into my neck with his face.

He stands up awkwardly and walks out of the kitchen after his brother and father.

"I didn't think he'd actually do it", Peeta mumbles.
