You struggle to breathe, fighting against your vulnerable position "like I'd...tell you if I was.."While you struggle, Hinazuki is standing over you with a wicked smile
"You're so perfect and innocent, just the way you are. You remind me of this one orchid I raised; it tried so hard to survive" He says, sounding more enthusiastic now "but in the end, it withered away horribly. That was the first taste of grief I'd ever had."
"Do you always compare your victims to flowers?" You hiss, kicking wildly in your rope cacoon
"No. You're an exception, for certain" He turns, rummaging through some things
"I thought you said I wasn't special," You say, panting from exerting too much energy "Was that a lie?"
"Hm,..." He grumbles "perhaps. Too early to tell. Your value will be determined after consumption."
You look directly ahead, squinting in the dark. There are three shadows a few feet away from you, but you can't tell which person is which
If I can stall long enough...maybe, just maybe at least they'll be able to escape
"So you're a botanist...are those your plants? At the end of the corridor." You ask, wriggling your hand through a small opening in the trap
"Possibly. What do you intend to gain by knowing?" He replies impatiently
You tug at the rough material with your one free hand, searching for a loose spot "nothing in particular, I just happened to notice how they were all alive even without sunlight. How did you do it?"
Hinazuki sighed "my blood demon art. Not only can I see the auras of living beings, but I can manipulate them too. I've mastered the ability enough to use it for my plants...it might've been nice to have something like that when I was human."
"That sounds complicated" you wince, your fingers bleeding from scratching at the thick fiber material
"It is. Your limited adolescent mind couldn't comprehend it" he gloats non chalantly "I quite like your ambition, though. You'd have made a great demon yourself."
"I would never stoop so low. No matter what" you sneer
"Hmm. How small minded and sad" Hinazuki says. You can hear his footsteps pacing back towards you and realize you've failed to buy yourself enough time
"Any final words you'd like to exchange with your dear friends?" He asks, getting close enough for you to see him
Now!
"No. But I've got something for you!" You twist around and kick him right in the stomach. Your legs are bound together, so the blow is even harder than it would be
Hinazuki stumbled back in surprise, coughing "BRAT!! I've been so kind to you and this is how you repay me??"
"I'm a demon hunter. As far as I'm concerned, you're a pesky bug under my foot" you taunt, your arm breaking free from the rope
Reaching behind you, you can feel something smooth. It's not your sword but it'll have to do
He lurches toward you and you smash the smooth object over his head, leaving him briefly stunned
"Funny, you think you have the power here...I'll show you. I'll kill you in the slowest way possible" Hinazuki grew in size, grabbing you and sinking his claws into your back
You tilt your head back and groan in pain, feeling his grip tightening against your spine
"Plucky little thing. You should say you're sorry, and I might not hurt you so much" he giggles, his laugh sounding unhinged
