So warm...What day is it?

Your eyelids flutter, feeling the weight of your body sinking into the bed you lay on

Using one hand to help yourself sit upright, you look around. Pale yellow light floods the room from the window at your side. You can see that it is midday.

You rub your eyes groggily

What happened...did I make it past final selection? Why does my body hurt?

Wait a minute, where am I?

You shift onto your side to gaze out of the window at the cherry blossom trees shedding their pale pink petals

This is...

Outside, you can see young girls playing under the trees and catching butterflies, only to set them free moments later. Upon recognizing their faces (Sumi, Kiyo and Naho), you regain your memories all at once

"This is the butterfly estate! We won--WE WON" You gasp, throwing the blankets off of yourself in a fit of joyful tears

"Zenitsu, Tanjiro, Nezuko, we did it!!" You laugh, wiping the tears away with your sleeve

You paused momentarily, and your heart ached

where is Inosuke? Your smile fades and you look around

You reach into your clothing, pulling a small rock out from a pocket you didn't even remember that you had. It was the same one he'd given you

While you were staring at the object sitting in your palms, Aoi entered the room. She nearly dropped the tray of food in shock when she saw that you were awake

"(Y/N)! I...had no idea you were awake"

She looks a little older, but she's the same old Aoi

"WHAT YEAR IS IT!? WHERE ARE MY FRIENDS?!" You wailed

"HEY! Hey, calm down" Aoi rushes to your side, giving you the food "It's still the same year since Muzan was defeated. Only four months passed while you were in a coma."

"FOUR!!" You panic

"I SAID CALM THE FUCK DOWN," Aoi says, beginning to feel as anxious as you were "Please--I'm going to explain okay? But you have to listen."

You fall silent, trying not to cry

"After Muzan died...you and all your friends passed out. For the last four months, I've been taking care of all of you and nursing you back to health" Aoi sat on the edge of the bed while she spoke "Everyone you know is alright. Tanjiro and Zenitsu are alive and awake, and Inosuke is the only one of your group still asleep."

"Inosuke--" You lean toward her

"Is alive, yes. His...condition was very bad when we brought him here. He had a concussion." She sighs "But he's been healing just fine."

You look at her with wide, hopeful eyes

"Would you like to go see him?" She asks with a small smile

You nod sharply, and she takes your hand

"Let's go" Aoi whispered while you trailed behind her in the hallway, your footsteps wobbly from having to adjust to walking again

You follow Aoi barefoot through the corridor, looking around at all of the empty rooms. It's so quiet here now, almost like peaceful yet solemn silence.
