It never really occurred to you how exhausted you were until the first morning light beamed over the treetops, and your mind became enveloped by mist, shrouding your better judgment.

It would've been smart to find a place to wait for the search party, but you had now taken to complete madness due to lack of sleep; not even you could understand your own crazed mumblings about 'determined' and 'confirm'

You've long since abandoned the large mammal from before--it eventually bucked until you gave up, and took off into the woods aimlessly fleeing in terror

After such an event, you walked on unsteady legs following the obsidian black bird soaring overhead. It's safe to assume that your message got through to them.

Luckily for you, the path which you memorized was much closer than you thought, and before long you happened upon the village which you were originally taken from.

Now it looks almost completely void of the vibrant energy from before. Dull, and average; and no one seems to be interested in answering your questions about three boys with different colored hair

While in a trance fixed on searching for a familiar face, you stumbled backward over a pebble, nearly falling on someone who stood right behind you

As soon as they spoke, you recognized the voice

You turned wide eyed to face the speaker

He looked pale, ghostly, and shocked as if he'd seen a corpse reanimate itself right in front of him

"INOSUKE-" You rasped, the numbness leaving your body when your eyes met

He didn't give you time to finish your sentence. He hauled you onto his back like a limp sack, and walked away briskly as if he'd picked up something valuable

While you desperately clung to his bare back on the path to wherever he was going, you rested your head on his shoulder and closed your eyes briefly, letting him carry you all the way back

He didn't even pester you with questions, or call you foolish names

"I didn't know what to do..." He murmured, "I'm sorry."

You blinked your eyes open gently, frowning at the realization of what he said

You're astonished; this is the first time you've ever heard him apologize about anything

"It's okay." was all you could manage

While Inosuke turned a corner and began walking up to some strange place you hadn't seen before, he said something you couldn't quite understand. You were too tired to think about it at the time
