A few hours later, everybody was wide awake and prepared to return to the butterfly estate. The fight of the previous night had awoken the old thirst for war and bloodshed within you all. Even though you knew you would miss the leisure and comfort of life without demons, you also knew that the only way to return to such an existence is to end it once and for all.

Tanjiro left early that morning and came back soon after to meet you all in front of the house with some important news

"My crow came to me..." Tanjiro announced

You chew your nails anxiously.

And by the looks of it, you're not the only one who's losing their mind with anticipation

"I had a feeling about this before, and we were right; the demons were waiting for the right moment to strike. Muzan withdrew his demons to prepare for an all-out attack and the corps has only just now received word of this."

"Very soon, it'll all be over. Once and for all."

"No way..." You murmur

Tanjiro placed a hand on his sword's hilt, turning away, He's ready to go before anyone has said anything in response

You perk up to look at Inosuke, who pushed past the others with a hardened expression

"Is something wrong?" You whispered to Zenitsu

The blonde dipped his head solemnly, uncharacteristically silent

"...everything we've been working for is finally coming to fruition. This will be the moment of truth"

So this means...the final battle...

"Finally, those bitches decided to make a move," Inosuke commented "I wondered if their population was thinning for a while"

"I thought the same," Tanjiro says "but it's a good thing we've trained even when we didn't have to. We're going to need it."

Inosuke places the boar mask over his head. He's facing away from you but you can sense his excitement. How can he remain so optimistic?

Because he's wanted to end this for a while now. Perhaps his whole life

Everyone looks when they heard the bushes rustle nearby, and the water pillar from before emerges from the undergrowth with a sullen expression. He looks to be the most tired and disgruntled man you've ever seen

"I sent for Giyuu-san to take us to the estate." Tanjiro adds "The final battle is coming up, so the rules are easing up for us."

Giyuu...is his name?

You look up at him, tensing with fear. You get the feeling that he might snap, or say something rude to you. Instead, he tilts his head

"Hm, so it seems none of you are mizunoto anymore. You must've worked hard."

You sigh, not realizing you were holding your breath, and then nod

"Good. But I'm gonna work you even harder, so don't get comfortable. You got that?"

You swallow and nod again
