You blush "oh—" for some reason you weren't expecting a sincere compliment to come out of his mouth at that moment

"Thank you," you smile, meeting him halfway and planting a soft peck on his lips

It's normal for me to do that right?! I hope I'm not overstepping my boundaries

He blinked at you, his face heating up "yea.."

"Well, it's pretty late" you yawn, stretching your arms over your head "I should probably try to get back to my sleeping quarters before I fall asleep in here"

"Already? But I have so much I wanna say to you now." Inosuke blurted out, shocked by his own words

You rise to stand and he rushes to stand up with you

"You'll see me again soon. I'll come and visit in the night again if I have to" you whisper, stepping towards the door

Your hand hovers over the door

You jump a little, feeling his arms wrapping around your waist from behind. He rested his head on your shoulder and you could feel his warm face against your neck

"You said you wouldn't leave me again" he mumbles into your neck

Looking down at his arms around your midsection, you see that they're both wrapped in bandages. I should ask him about it later

"And I meant it" you reply, and he squeezes you a bit tighter

He's so hard to walk away from

"Stay." He says

You then turn to face him, taking in his features. His hair is still soft, but ruffled up in some places. No wonder he's restless—he can't sleep

You reach up to smooth his hair down "I can't. I can only promise you that I'll be back soon. Try to get as much rest as you can"

Inosuke nods solemnly and watches you open the door

You slid the door open quietly

You had to catch yourself against the doorframe when you stumbled back in fear, yanking your foot away. You nearly stepped on the head of a child!

The girls from before were all packed in front of the doorway, looking absolutely guilty. Even Aoi is there!

"HEY! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING YOU NOSY SONS OF BITCHES" Inosuke stomps his foot on the ground

"I...okay, I can explain-" Aoi starts

"What's all that racket?!" A woman's voice yells angrily from somewhere down the hall

"GOODBYE" you step over the children and run straight to your room.

Behind you, everyone scattered back to their places as well

You close the door behind you and squirm under the covers of your bed. A few times, somebody would come by your room door and peek in; but you didn't look up. You stayed hidden until you fell asleep
