After a short stroll as I learned more about the summon through the connection, I intended on unsummoning it. However, right before I could, something came through from the moth. It sensed something, and I could sense it too. Some vibration in the air, probably from its antennae. At first, it surprised and worried me. However, thinking a bit about it, I saw it as an opportunity.
I went back to the training area and did as I had been told: try and feel senses, and similar, that come through the connection. Unlike with the goblin, having experienced such a share earlier, I had a better idea. Much to my surprise, I could feel something. A sort of flow of information.
I hadn't been this excited in a long time. Was that information what I had been looking for? The summon's senses? What should I do with it? I kept feeling it, but I couldn't do much more with it. I could tell apart the information from the summon's antennae and everything else, but could not make up the rest.
Wanting to make sure not to try and go too fast, I figured I should try and get used to it. I stopped the connection I had with the moth, which scared it, making it go off my head and fly in front of me, visibly worried.
"I'm sorry for scaring you, I'd just like to get used to both creating a connection and those...senses I could take from you."
Thankfully, explaining seemed to calm it down, so it went back on my head. I found the connection and built it again, similar to last time, although it took quite a bit of focus. From that point, I went directly to trying to feel its senses, only to not find much of anything. There was a small flow of information, but it was significantly smaller in size and strength.
I sighed and tried again a few times, never unsummoning the moth. I didn't get many tries before Mark came to tell me about dinner, not without being surprised.
"Hey Lilia, what is that on your head?"
"Oh. I managed to summon that. It's not quite an elemental moth, but I'm quite proud of it. It's cute, isn't it?"
"I'm...not sure how you find it cute, but I guess different people have different tastes. Anyway, dinner is ready. Don't forget to unsummon your friend here and lock behind you."
"Sure, give me just a bit."
He left ahead, leaving me alone with my creature. I felt a little sad that I had to make it go, having gotten this far with it, but resolved myself, said my good-byes and unsummoned it. I made sure to lock the door behind me and went to eat before taking a bath.
My wings were getting a little uncomfortable, but I knew I couldn't afford to change their size back to normal. I made sure to be particularly thorough in cleaning them as well as under them, before getting into the bath and remembering the whole day, falling asleep, head under the water.
The next day, I wanted to make as much progress towards the sense-sharing spell, considering the relative success of the day prior. I made sure to eat quickly and headed straight for the training room, summoning a similar moth as yesterday on the way.
The moth felt...abnormally familiar. It didn't feel hollow at all, which was a little surprising considering the relative lack of focus I had put into its summoning, but it most importantly had the same behavior. It instantly came to sit on my head, having its legs in the exact same places. I thought it was just a show that it's consistent with summoned moths, but I couldn't shake the feeling of familiarity.
Once inside the room, I started working right away. Finding the connection was surprisingly easy, but the same problem as the day prior happened: the amount of information, while definitely obtainable, is small and weak. After a few attempts, I thought about it some more.
