I now knew why my back felt heavy. Two things were coming out of it, and they looked like wings. Each individual one seemed about as big as me, and the scales, similar in color to those of my tail, reflected light in a way that created a rainbow effect on them. The first thing I felt upon seeing them was shock, intermittently replaced by fear.
I reached out for where these appendages appeared in the mirror, and indeed, there they were. I could feel it. Not just on my hands, but also from what I was touching. Its sensitivity was high, so I didn't try anything else. However, I was now certain: wings had grown on my back.
I was lost. What would I do about them? I can't wear clothes as I normally would with wings. Maybe they would be put into this other dimension that my pendant creates for my tails and horn? How even does that pendant know to only hide those parts of me? How come nothing weird shows then it does so?
My mind was drifting too far at this point, and I shook my head to try and get myself back together. What I needed to do right now was find a solution for them to be hidden. I didn't know how, as I didn't even know how to move them.
This stray thought, however, gave me a lead on where to begin. If those were indeed my wings, which was very likely due to my ability to feel through them, wouldn't I be able to move them?
As I prepared to move them, I thought that it was best done outside in order not to break anything. I looked at my clothes and my pendant, and thought about another alternative that I had to consider: what if they get hidden by my pendant?
There was only one way to find out. I put my pendant back on and felt my tail and horns drift into this separate dimension as they lose their physical existence, although only partially. I didn't feel anything of the sort for my wings. Looking back at the mirror, it seemed they didn't disappear either.
I now knew for sure that I would have to learn to control them, and that we would likely have to call for Miyu to adjust the spell in one way or another. I wasn't happy about the idea, but I knew there weren't any other alternatives. I put on my panties and prepared to put the dress on, but realized yet another issue.
I now had two gigantic wings coming out of my back. That meant that a lot of my dresses were impossible to wear, if not all of them. I didn't remember having any dress that had an exposed back, except maybe my maid uniform. I looked at the dress I had picked to verify, and sure enough, I wouldn't be able to wear that specific one. I sighed and left the bathroom towards my room, hoping nobody would see me.
Luckily, I rushed fast enough that I wasn't seen. Shortly after entering my room and closing the door behind me, I heard a door open and footsteps. I stayed as silent as I could and headed for my wardrobe to search for a dress I could wear without issues. I found one after rummaging for some time and put that on, wondering why such a small girl as me had such an attire. I brushed that question aside as unimportant, before preparing myself mentally to head out and meet whoever woke up.
I opened the door, and went to the main room. As I arrived at the entrance to the hallway, I looked at the kitchen, hoping the person that had woken up would be Father. Which it was. He seemed to have heard me enter, and turned around to face me and likely greet me. His face, however, quickly turned from happiness to shock, as he left the counter to rush to me.
"G-Good morning," I stuttered as he approached.
"Lilia...?"
"That's me."
"What are those...?" he asked with a somewhat afraid tone.
"Well, about that...I woke up in the bath with those. My pendant doesn't hide them."
