Clients poured in almost immediately, and sat down onto the tables, as my embarrassment grew larger with each person. As more people were entering, the ones that had already settled called for me. I went to check up on them and take their orders. I went to the counter to tell Olivia the order as well as what table it was for, and she relayed the information to the kitchen, as I took more orders. Eventually, the plates were ready and the other server was delivering the meals. The place was filled with people.
As I was working, certain tables commented on my size, asking why such a short girl was working at an inn. I didn't want to explain to them the whole thing, so I simply said that they were letting me stay in exchange for work, and asked for their order again. Then they made a comment on my clothes, which I didn't take quite well as I was still uncomfortable wearing these in such a crowded place, only being able to bear with it due to the work. I asked them for their order again, in a much more serious voice. They laughed, and gave me it, teasing me some more. I sighed and went to give the order to Olivia.
Another table, this time of four women, asked me to stay at the table to talk with them, because: "We need to talk to such a cute little girl!" I replied that I needed to work, so I couldn't. Such events happened surprisingly often, amounting to around once every thirty minutes.
As I was taking orders, I heard people talking oddly loud. Being so short meant I couldn't see from where I was, since there was a table with people in the way. I moved to the side to check what was happening, and saw that two rather muscular men were arguing loudly. I sighed and went towards them. One of them was wearing plate armor, while the other was wearing atypical magician robe.
"What's happening here?"
They both looked at me.
"Whaddya want lil' girl?"asked the armored guy, obviously drunk.
"For you to explain what's happening, and also to stop the ruckus you've been making."
He laughed.
"Listen to that cutie pie, she thinks she can get between me smashing your face in!"
"If you wanna get this shit set, you better get your ass on me, you coward!" shouted the other.
"I said stop, so you're gonna stop. No fighting in the inn!" I screamed at the both of them.
"Shut up and go play with your dolls, you baby," said the plate armored knight with a very disrespectful tone. "Let the grown ups do grown up things."
These two comments kind o fpissed me off. People in the inn were whispering about me being here and potentially getting hurt, so I wanted to show them that I was serious.
"Hey Olivia! Can I throw him off the inn?"
"I don't think you can..."she replied, as if she was scared.
"I just want the permission."
They both laughed at me like I was a little girl giving a worthless warning.
"O-Okay..." Olivia finallysaid.
"Someone keep the door open!" I shouted.
Someone listened and opened the doors, so I grabbed the arm of the one who had said something inappropriate. He looked at me confused, until I literally threw him out of the inn through the open door. He hit the building on the other side quite heavily. I cleaned my hands from the dust on his armor, and looked at the other.
"You want to argue too?"
"N-No, I'm fine. Sorry for the ruckus," he replied, visibly scared, and went back to his table.
