I, Lilia, had just been told I wasn't meant to exist by some kind of goddess. No matter how I thought about it, I could not come up with a reasonable argument against this statement. Not only did I defy all logic in this world due to my status as a humanoid dragon, but I was also reincarnated from another world.
My mind worked as fast as it possibly could to try and understand any possible underlying meaning. Two things seemed to hold much more meaning than the rest of what I could think of. The first was what the existence of me as an anomaly exactly meant, and how I came to be.
The only evidence I had of my anomaly was my status as a reincarnator, alongside that of being a humanoid dragon. In this world, according to Father, dragons only take on their natural form and do not have magic allowing them to take on a human one.
However, that is more than enough to undeniably confirm what was said. Add that I used to be a man and am now in the body of a little girl, and it might very well be impossible to deny that I am indeed an anomaly. I still wasn't able to understand what it meant exactly, but I didn't worry too much about it as it wasn't something that needed an immediate answer. Therefore, I began thinking about the second point that intrigued me: the mention of 'divinity'.
I couldn't think of any direct meaning to it. Even if I indeed was such an important entity, I wasn't able to think of anything that would happen because of it, especially if nobody knows about it. Additionally, due to my limited knowledge regarding this world, I couldn't think of any indirect consequences either.
This whole thought process took the rest of the night, leaving me tired by the time the sun rose into the sky. Olivia knocked on the door to notify me that it was morning and that I should come down to get breakfast. I checked my dress to make sure it wasn't in any weird position and went downstairs to have breakfast.
Everyone was gathered here and looked oddly grim. I was confused, so I asked what was happening.
"Since you're leaving us today, we wanted to say goodbye," explained Olivia.
"Oh. Yeah that makes sense. I might come back one day if I'm in this city again. I doubt Father would mind."
"That would be great. I'm looking forward to seeing you again, Lilia, and thank you for your services."
They then told me goodbye one after the other, hugging me. The atmosphere was quite emotional and solemn. After everyone was done, Olivia handed me a wooden box. I looked at it for some time, opened it and saw some food inside, as well as what looked like an envelope.
"Food for the travel, and the salary for the work?" I asked.
"Salary?" Olivia repeated.
"Eh. Money for the work."
"Yeah. Reminds me, did you do your luggage?"
"Oh. I don't have any suitcase or anything of the sort."
"I forgot to give her one. Let me go get it," Masaru said, leaving towards the kitchen and coming back a few moments later with a large wooden suitcase. "Here you go. You should hurry and get your clothes and everything else in."
"You're right. If Father arrives, just tell him I'm busy putting everything in order, okay?"
"Sure thing!" Olivia replied.
I then went upstairs and opened the currently empty container. I grabbed the dresses one after the other, making sure not to damage any of them. I also put all my panties to the side as cleanly as I could. On top of everything, I added the two maid uniforms, trying to fold them as little as possible, and the accessories.
I checked around the room to make sure the room was in order, then closed and carried the suitcase downstairs. When I arrived, the first person I saw was Father, who was talking and laughing with Olivia. He heard and noticed me, and simply smiled in my direction. I was filled with an odd feeling of satisfaction and relief.
