Midoriya's POV
"That was fun, thank you Todoroki," I said as he pulled into the driveway to my house.
There was a soft smile on his lips as he parked the car. The drive home had been relatively quiet, but my brain had not. I couldn't get my mind off whoever it was that had been watching us. "It was fun," he agreed. "I'll walk you to the door." Todoroki unbuckled his seatbelt and I did the same. He waited for me as I walked around the car before taking my hand and walking me to the front door.
I should probably tell him, shouldn't I? "I uhh- I didn't want to mention it earlier because I didn't want to worry you, but for a little while at the fair, I think someone was watching us," I said quietly as we walked up to my front door. I don't know why but I felt like he should know this.
I couldn't read Todoroki's face. He looked like it was a mix between annoyance and something else I couldn't quite place. "Ok, well it was probably nothing." By his reaction, it didn't seem like 'nothing' but I didn't say anything else about it. "So you don't need to worry about it."
But I felt like I had to worry about it. Someone has been stalking us. I let out a soft sigh. "Ok, I won't worry about it."
He smiled softly before placing a kiss on my forehead. "Ok, then I'll see you later Midoriya."
I nodded a small smile on my lips and blush on my cheeks. "Yeah, thanks again for the date, and I guess the stuffed bear as well," I said with a small laugh as I held up the prize Todoroki had won for me. "Oh you probably want your sweater back," I said about to take it off but Todoroki's hand stopped me.
"Keep it, for now, it'll give me a reason to see you soon." There was a small smirk on his lips as I stared up at him.
My face got hotter and there was no doubt that my cheeks were getting redder as well. "O-oh, ok," I stuttered pulling the yellow sweater back over my shoulders. "I should- I should head in, drive safe Todoroki."
He gave me another small kiss on the forehead before I went inside and he left. I couldn't help the smile that crept onto my lips. Everything just felt so right when it came to Todoroki. I know I told myself not to let my guard down but it was coming down and fast.
"Was it a fun date?" I heard my dad ask from the living room. He sat in the armchair with a book open over his lap and his reading glasses on. Mom wasn't there so I was pretty sure she had gone to bed meaning my dad probably stayed up to see me when I got home.
I smiled softly. "Yeah, it was. Todoroki won me a prize at one of the games," I said holding up the bear. It was soft and had a small red bow around its neck, sort of reminded me of the one I had when I was a little kid.
"Good to hear," he said with a smile as he got up. "You should get ready for bed, it's getting late."
I nodded and headed upstairs to get ready and into my PJs. I had been expecting a small interrogation from my dad since he hadn't met Todoroki properly yet, but I guess he just wanted to make sure I got home safe.
I flopped down on my bed, pulling out my phone to see a bunch of missed texts from Ochako. She was just asking about the date and then the later it got the more urgent the texts seemed. In the last one, she seemed really worried that I hadn't been responding. It was 11:00 so I guess it is a little weird for me to be out so late.
I sent a quick text just saying the date was fun and that we could talk about it in the morning since I know she will want to know everything about the date.
Everything about the date... my mind lingered on the kiss Todoroki and I shared on the Ferris wheel. Honestly, I surprised myself with my answer when he asked. But it felt so nice, it just felt right, having him there with me and so close. I guess that's why we're destined to be mates. Everything with Todoroki just feels so right. It honestly scared me a little.
