Here's to Team Chan

"See you tomorrow okay? I'll take you out on a date." Chan smiled at Sooah.

She nodded before stepping out his car and closing the car door before entering her house.

"Why do you look so sad?" Roeun questioned.

Sooah shrugged. "I just had a bad day."

"Well I bought some ice cream for you, maybe that'll make you feel better."

"Thanks Roeun." She smiled at her brother.

Sooah walked into the kitchen and took out the chocolate ice cream from the freezer, along with a spoon and started shoving ice cream into her mouth, lost in her own thoughts.

"Oi Sooah." Roeun the biscuit he was eating.

"What was that for?!" She complained annoyed.

"I've been calling you for the past minute, what are you even thinking about?"

She shrugged.

"Is it Chan? Or Jaehyun? Or what?"

"It's Chan." Sooah sighed.

"What happened?"

"His ex came back."

"And?"

"I'm scared."

"Of?"

"Them."

"What are they? The monsters from a quite place? Why would you be scared of them?"

"You're not helping."

"You're not letting me help."

"Forget it, I'll tell you later." Sooah stood up and left the kitchef after putting the ice cream back into the freezer.

Chan, on the other hand, drove back to school. He knew Lina would still be there.

And he was right, she was walking out with her head down, probably crying because of Jaehyun's words too.

Chan stopped his car in front of her and rolled the window down.
"Get in." He said without looking at her.

"Chan?" Lina called out shocked.

"I said get in, I don't have time for this."

Lina got into the passengers seat and Chan started driving before stopping at the side of an empty road.

"I don't know why you came back and I don't want to know but I'm telling you this just once." He started.

"Chan, I can explain. I found a way to change our soulmates-"

"We can't. We as in me and Sooah." He replied.

Lina furrowed her brows. "How do you know?"

"Because I tried."

"So that means you don't love her."

"No, it's because I love her."

"That's stupid." Lina scoffed.

"It won't be after you find out why."

"Explain."

"Me and Sooah have been soulmates for a long time. 1890, 2012 and 2035 were the years we met but we never ended up together. The last time we met was a hundred years ago. I want to end up with her in this life, I really love her."

By now, tears were streaming down Lina's face. "More than you have ever loved me?"

Chan nodded slowly.

"Was it because I broke your heart?"

He shook his head. "It's Sooah, not you. You belong with Jaehyun."

Lina wiped her tears and nodded.
"I understand." She sniffled.
"See you in the next life, hopefully."

She was about to open the door but Chan stopped her. "Wait, I'm not done."

"I want to say thank you for everything. You made me the happiest at one point and I loved you most at one point. But, that was in the past and it won't happen again. Some things aren't meant to be, like us. I hope we can forgive each other. I wish you happiness. Be happy, just not with me." Chan smiled, eyes tearing up.

"You too Chan, be happy. I'll forget about you but I don't think I can love anyone else. Tell Sooah I'm sorry for suddenly coming back. I wish her happiness too. And thank you, Bang Chan." Lina cried with a forced smile.

"Thank you, Seo Lina."

Lina stepped out of the car, taking one last look at the man she once loved before walking away. This time, she finally accepted it.
