CHAPTER TWO

Sooah sighed, pulling her jacket sleeves down purposely to cover her soulmate's initals— Chan's initials.

"Let's sit over there." Kyora said and pulled Sooah's hand towards an empty seat.

They both sat down and started eating their lunch, catching up with each other.

"Do you remember how sad I was when you moved?" Sooah asked.

"Of course, you didn't want to let me go." Kyora replied, laughing.

"SKZ!"

"Here we go again." Sooah groaned, stuffing a spoonful of rice into her mouth.
"By the way, have you found your soulmate?"

Kyora froze and looked up at Sooah with a sigh. "Yeah, Lee Minho from SKZ." She showed her wrist to Sooah.

"Then, why aren't you happy about it?"

"He hates me."

"What, why?"

Kyora shrugged. "When we found out, he didn't even want to look at me. Maybe because I've liked him for a long time and I've been chasing him, that probably annoyed him."

Sooah nodded in understanding. "He's an idiot for not liking a sweet person like you."

~

"Chan, your soulmate's there with- nevermind." Minho pointed at the few seats in front of them.

"I know, I'm just waiting for the right time." Chan smirked.

"Right time for wha-"

"Hey soulmate!" Chan shouted, standing up.

Everyone's eyes turned to him, questioning who he was calling.

Sooah's eyes widened, she looked at Kyora for help but she also had the same look. She bit her lip and looked down, hiding her wrists.

"Don't hide my initials, soulmate." Chan spoke beside her.

Sooah turned to look at him as gasps were heard all around the cafeteria.

"Come on, show everyone your initials." He tilted his head when Sooah turned away from him.

"I'm leaving." She said, picking up her tray.

"I'll go with you." Kyora followed.

"Wait!" Chan shouted from the distance.
"I said wait!"

"And I don't give a damn." Sooah snickered, gritting her teeth.

"Now the entire school knows." Kyora said after they returned their trays.

"Yeah." Sooah let out a sigh.
"I hate him."

"Already? It's the first day." She asked her best friend with a surprised look.

"Yeah, the first day of hating my own soulmate."

~

"You shouldn't have done that." Jeongin rolled his eyes at Chan.

"Hey, Hyunjin was the one who told me to, so that the entire school knows that I found my soulmate."

"Why are you blaming it on me, it was just an advice, you didn't have to do it." Hyunjin replied.

"And she probably hates you now." Changbin laughed while Chan slouched on his seat with a pout.

Minho kept quiet the entire time, minding his own business. "Why does she have to be friends with Kyora?" He whispered.

~

"Mom, dad, Roeun, I'm home!" Sooah called out, throwing her backpack onto the couch and laying next to it.

"How was the first day?" Her mother asked, walking to her with a bowl of fruits.

"Bad." She replied, stuffing a piece of mango into her mouth.

"Huh, why?"

"I found my soulmate and-"

"That's great! Roeun, come here and get dad!"

"No, mom." Sooah whined.
"I hate him."

"Don't you dare hate your soulmate, you'll spend the rest of your life with him." Her mother scolded.

"But he's the school owner's son, he thinks he's better than everyone and he embarrassed me in front of everyone!" She groaned, punching the pillow next to her.

"Why'd you call?" Roeun asked with their father following behind.

"Your sister here found her soulmate but the thing is she hates him for some reason." She shrugged.

"It's not for some reason, he thinks he's so important because his parents own the school and technically, he also owns the school. He also embarrassed me in front of everyone, shouting 'hey soulmate' and walking up to me." Sooah exclaimed in frustration.
"Who does he think he is?!"

"Calm down, I'm sure he isn't that bad." Her father reassured.

"No, he is that bad." Sooah replied and grabbed her backpack, ready to leave the living room.

"If he's that bad, then change him into his better self."

~

"Change him? I'd rather change my soulmate. But that would cost a lot and I'm broke. Plus, I don't even know if these places are real." Sooah walked around her room, browsing through her phone.

"Ugh, forget it!" She groaned, falling onto her bed and kicking the air.

"Why him? He's the worst and this is just the first day of meeting him."

"I need to relieve my stress." She sighed, standing up from her comfy bed.

Sooah then left her house, heading towards one of the gyms near a few blocks away from her house.

"Hey, Sooah! Long time no see." One of the gym instructors greeted, giving her a hi-five.

"Hello to you too, Soohun. I'm glad I could finally go boxing again, preparing for school was the worst."

"Glad I graduated." He laughed and handed her a pair of boxing gloves.

Sooah thanked him and walked towards one of the punching bags before tying her hair up into a high ponytail.

Then, she beat the crap out of the bag, imagining it as Chan.

"One punch for you thinking you're better than everyone."

"One more for embarrassing me."

"And a hundred more for being my soulmate."
