Weiss stared into her bathroom mirror as she brushed her teeth. She wouldn't disagree if someone said she looked horrendous right now because they wouldn't be wrong. You could tell she pulled all-nighters and even had sleepless nights.

She spit the toothpaste out and cupped a pool of water from the faucet then swished it in her mouth and repeated the process a few more times. She used a towel to dry her mouth off and heard her phone vibrate against the sink and checked it seeing an unknown number.

Unknown: Heyo Weissy-roo! It's me Ruby Rose ;)

Weiss rolled her eyes at the message but added her to her contacts anyways.

Weiss: Do not call me Weissy-roo.

Ruby: To late it's saved in my contacts as such :)

Ruby: Anywho how's it going? I know it's late so I really shouldn't be texting you... IF YOURE TIRED ILL GO THO!

Weiss: It's fine. I'm not tired anyways.

Ruby: It's 1 AM over there though :O

Weiss: I usually work later then that.

Ruby: Damn... Well I'll keep you company till you say other wise :D

Weiss: That's not necessary but thanks.

Ruby: Can you be more less professional :(
why do you keep putting periods at the end of your sentence?

Weiss: It's not? I'm just used to it.

Ruby: If you say so -\(•_•)/-

Weiss: What the heck is that?

Ruby: Idk •_• supposed to be a shrug but I failed

Weiss: At least you tried.

Ruby: YEAH!

Ruby: Hey... um..

Ruby: Can we FaceTime? I'm kinda to lazy to keep typing

Weiss: Is that just an excuse so you can try to get me to be more open with you?

Ruby: WHA- noooooooo ;)

Weiss: I suppose we can..

Ruby: YAY ALRIGHT ILL CALL

Weiss shifted in her bed, sitting straight up with her phone to her face at the best angle she could make at the moment. She didn't know why she was so nervous of someone seeing her. Maybe it was because it was a stranger she just met or that someone would see her looking bad.

The phone showed how she looked and she fixed the view before answering. She saw a ceiling then saw a women she's been talking to laying on her side with her check pressed into the pillow as her hair fell onto her eye a little.

Weiss felt herself almost smile from the sight as her chest felt hazy in way, it was a warm comforting way.

The women pushed the hair out of her eyes and laid turned on her stomach and was staring at her.

"Woah." She spoke and Weiss's mind went blank as result. "You look so beautiful even when you're about to go to bed." She said with a smile as she examined Weiss through the phone.

Weiss froze at the compliment, she was taken aback even and lost for words.

"Thank you." It was so simple but that's the only think she could come up with when Ruby was just staring at her.

"No problem." She spoke. "You probably get that a lot huh?"

Weiss hummed. "I do but most don't mean it."

Ruby looked at her confused. "Wha- their just blind then because no way can they not mean it!" She huffed.

"Well sadly most is business which is understandable." Weiss replied.

Ruby thought about it for awhile before nodding along. "I guess so."

"Was there a special reason you wanted to call besides you're lazy?" Weiss smirked.

"Oh yeah!" Ruby adjusted herself and Weiss could only hear the sound of cloth rubbing against the phone. "How was your day?" Ruby smiled brightly as she was now laying on her back with the phone held up high.

"The same as always." Weiss sighed. "How about you?"

"It was great! I went out to the movies with the friend I told you about yesterday- remember?" Weiss nodded. "We actually ran into a guy I talked to on the app." Ruby chuckled. "It wasn't awkwardly thankfully but I do think he likes my friend or he's gay.. But then again probably just how he looks."

"Sounds more fun than my usual days." Weiss rolled her eyes.

"Well with Ruby Rose it'll be more fun." Ruby winked before her whole face dropped. "OH MY GOD I REALLY AM TURNING INTO YANG! I need to stop hanging out with her." Ruby groaned.

Weiss covered her mouth as she hid her little laugh that Ruby caused. "It's sweet don't worry." Weiss assured.

"Oh, I'll tell Yang her advice works then." Ruby laughed.

"Then also tell her to have Blake call me in the afternoon." Weiss added.

Before Ruby could even react her phone fell out of her grasp hitting her square in the nose. All Weiss could hear was groaning coming from her as the phone faced the ceiling.

"Are you alright?" Weiss asked worriedly.

"Yeah... yeah I'm alright." Ruby picked the phone up showing her laying down on her side holding her nose with a smile. Her eyes were a bit watery which Weiss knew all to well and the pain itself.

"Maybe don't do that." Weiss said.

"I would say I won't but I don't learn and will keep doing it." Ruby chuckled.

Weiss hummed as they just stared at one another through the phone. Weiss hadn't even realized she was in the same position as Ruby was until she remembered she was laying on her hand.

"Your eyes are so blue." Ruby commented.

"It's hereditary in my family, we all have it." Weiss replied. "What about your eyes."

"It's apparently rare and only that was passed down to me so.." Ruby muttered.

"Your family has unique eyes." Weiss said.

"Hm.. I guess so." Ruby grinned.

Weiss yawned and Ruby yawned after and silence fell as they both didn't take their eyes off one another. Weiss was starting to get tired but she was fighting with ever fiber of her body as not to have their first call where she would fall asleep, but in reality she didn't want to say goodbye.

"There's this story my mother used to tell me." Ruby began, "It was about a young women in the forest on a mission to deliver a basket of goodies to her sick grandmother. Of course she loved visiting her grandmother that she didn't care how long it took she'd always love to do it." Ruby turned to lay on her back as her phone showed her side angle. "Then one day a wolf appeared, coaxed her to go off the path where she became lost. Only the wolf knew the way back but wouldn't budge unless the girl gave them her food." Ruby turned to look at Weiss. "You see the wolf was starving as the hunters had killed most of their prey and-" Ruby stopped as she saw Weiss had her eyes closed. Her hair fell down her shoulders and her mouth was agape showing a bit of her teeth.

Ruby smiled at the sight and turned off her lamp before turning towards her phone as the lamp on Weiss's dresser illuminated the screen a bit.

"Goodnight Weiss." Ruby whispered. Her eyes closing shut as she let her body completely rest.
