Ruby soon left Atlas which she was quite glad about, she thought she was going to have frostbite. When Blake picked her up, because Yang was busy, she didn't ask much about it besides how Penny was and if she had a good time.
"She's not all that bad." Ruby murmured.
"I know." Blake replied.
"Could you live without Yang?" Ruby asked.
"No." Blake quickly answered. "Before I met her? Yes. That's what happens when you meet one of your soulmates. You can either live without them or can't and with Yang... I wouldn't, but I would definitely have to try so I can cheer you up." Blake smiled.
"Yeah but you're watching her die before your eyes. Slowly and painfully." Ruby argued.
"I would be traumatized and possible fall into depression, but I've already beat it before, so I can do it again." Blake sighed. "Just without her by my side to help this time."
"Sorry." Ruby looked down.
"Nah, it's okay. It's good to think of how far you've sometimes come and living is like a ticking time bomb, you never know when it'll explode- or in this case when you'll die. You think 'I'm going to die' when you're close to it but when u survive you either laugh about it or get PTSD." Blake glanced over to Ruby quickly. "Death is never not going to exist. It's hard to expect, but it's the truth that everyone has to realize. The only scary part about it is what happens after."
"I get what you mean but it's so hard when it's someone you love." Ruby said.
"I know, but that's just life Ruby, without death you know how much terrible people would be here? Death happens everywhere for a reason, so overpopulation doesn't happen and wipe out everything- even though mostly humans have done that." Blake said.
"True. Humans suck! If I'm going to be honest I'm actually envious of you since you got animal traits. I want some too." Ruby crossed her arms.
"And be harassed, fetishized, seen as a monster, and be oppressed?" Blake chuckled. "Yeah sure."
"You guys wish to be humans don't you?" Ruby looked at Blake.
"Every day. I've seen some who actually got surgery to remove their animal traits... Remember when I hid my ears years ago?" Ruby nodded. "Well I was ashamed of the fact I was born like this, but thanks to Yang and you I actually love myself and my ears when you two aren't loud."
"Sorry." Ruby rubbed the back of her neck with a blush.
"It's fine, you don't exactly experience such sensitive ears as I do so I don't blame you two." Blake grinned. "You missed a lot when u were gone by the way. Nora blew something up, Yang got in a fight with this gorilla Faunas to show how strong she was, Pyrrha got hit on too many times, and Sun has a boyfriend."
"I wasn't even gone that long! Only for a week!" Ruby exclaimed.
Blake chuckled. "The most interesting happens when you aren't here, huh?"
Ruby nodded. "Have you heard anything from Jaune? He was supposed to help you guys."
"Actually yeah, he came in and helped a few people out." Blake said.
"That's good to hear." Ruby smiled. "The White Fang is like a family at this point. I know I'm not a Faunus but I love helping them."
"Not many agree with you and the others- besides Sun, being there simply because it's always circulated about Faunus's, but most at least know there are some humans out there who will help them regardless of their traits. You guys bring them hope."
