A/N: to answer that question about like how worse it was originally gonna be... u see Pyrrha was gonna die & Ruby was going to end being paralyzed waist down from falling onto something after witnessing Pyrrha's dead :) maybe not to severe & not much a change but it originally was supposed to be on the roof (hence why she looked up since originally she was going to see Pyrrha pinned down near the edge, her head dangling off as she was fighting for her life & trying to get the person's hand off of her).
Ruby was also originally supposed to be stuck on the floor (outside) since she couldn't move and had to stare at the sky till someone came to rescue her and only hours after did someone actually find her. ANYWHO TO THE STORY! Sorry for the long A/N.
Ruby awoke in a white room and looked around as best as she could without moving. Her mind wasn't focused on if she could move, it was more focused on looking around and answering her question.
She looked to the side to see someone with black hair laying on her leg. She wasn't exactly expecting to see her for some reason. Everything came back in a flash and Ruby grimaced before slowly lifting herself up. She winched at the sharp throb from her side and held herself for a few seconds till it died down they continued to pull herself up.
Ruby wondered how Yang was doing. How Pyrrha was doing. Last time she saw her she looked half dead and almost unrecognizable. Ruby listened to the machine that tracked her heart release a noise and payed attention to it.
Such useless deaths just because people hated a Faunus's. She knew one day this was going to happen but not this soon, not with the process everyone made.
Blake stirred away and rubbed her eyes before looking at Ruby. "You're awake." Blake gasped before hugging her.
Ruby winched and Blake pulled back. "Sorry, I'm just so happy. Yang will be happy."
Ruby gave a slight nod before looking out the window. "Do you want water?" Ruby nodded in reply. Her whole mouth felt dry.
Blake got up and left the room. At least she knew Yang and Blake were alive.
Blake came back a few minutes later with a doctor with her. A part of her hoped that Weiss would be right behind them but once the door shut she knew she wasn't here.
"Glad to see you're awake," She said. "I'm Doctor Duvall." She looked at the chart. "Your wounds were deep and the knife punctured your muscles but not enough your organ were damaged." She looked up at Ruby after saying that.
"Can I see your wound?" She asked. Ruby nodded before carefully pulling her shirt up. A bloody patch covered her with tape. The doctor took it off looking at the wound that was stapled close. "It looks nice and looks like it's healed quite well." She put it back on. "I advised not moving around till you come back to get your stables out. Do you have anyone to take care of you till then?"
"I... I don't think so..." Ruby looked at Blake.
"Yeah, her dad can." Blake said.
"Well after the police ask you some questions you can go." She said with a smile and clapped her hands together.
"My dad's coming?" Ruby asked Blake when the doctor left.
"The moment he heard about it, right now he's at our place but he can live with you till you heal." Blake mumbled.
"Who's going to take over the shop though!?" Ruby groaned.
"Qrow said he would." Blake answered.
"Did Weiss..." Ruby didn't even bother to finish her sentence.
Blake looked away then shook her head. "Nobody has heard anything from her actually..." Blake sighed.
"How's Yang?" Ruby asked.
"She's..." Blake stayed silent for a moment. "Not herself, she's-... Yang is different."
"At least she's alive... and you..." Ruby laid back with a sigh.
Ruby jolted up ignoring the pain. "What about-" The door opened revealing two police officers at the door. Ruby leaned back in her bed and stared at them as they walked in.
