Chapter 18: Beauty runs in the family

TW: slight mention of transphobic & homophobic slurs (note: I'm a lesbian and I can use dyke)  & also slight blood (I'm so sorry I wasn't planning to but it happened while I was writing 😭)

Ruby stared at herself in the mirror of the room she stayed in last time she was at Atlas. She roamed her body, even looking at her side profile of her body to make sure she looked good.

It did take two weeks to get her outfit done with all the confusing questions such as Lapel which she chose a Notched Lapel when she found it what it was. The tailor was very specific in details and even recommended some fits and was extremely nice which Ruby was glad about. She eventually did go for a full black suit with a velvet tie that she spend hours trying to put on, she eventually had to watch a video to help. She even had a black button up underneath that was a very dark black like her suit to emphasize the red of her tie. She even had a red handkerchief on her breast pocket in a neat square shape that she found extra but Weiss recommended it.

She sighed taking herself in. She actually fooled her mind a bit to the point she thought she was some rich snob. She scoffed at herself and combed her hair back. It was actually sleek and held by hair gel.

If she had to chose being poor or rich she'd definitely chose being poor with how much effort rich people had to put in their look to one up other rich people. She heard a knock coming from her door and she quickly walked towards it. She opened the door to see Weiss.

She had on a white elegant dress that faded to a light blue that had a sheer as the top, the thin fabric that covered her arm was the same color as her dress but with snowflakes painted on the fabric. Her dress was tight on her upper body but lose on her lower half as it covered her feet. Her hair was up in a ponytail and she had a light blue color as eyeshadow and had her cheekbones pop out with highlight. She was also wearing red lipstick that popped out from her bright color and pale skin.

Ruby was breathless at Weiss. "Woah." She said not hiding the fact she was looking at Weiss up and down.

"I'm not even going to ask for reasons, but I'm going to be going on soon. Follow the guest and you should make your way over there okay?" Weiss said.

Ruby nodded. "Sure do!" Ruby smiled.

Weiss started walking away and Ruby shut the door behind her to see Weiss standing in front of her. She was quite shock on how she was even quiet wearing high heels.

Weiss puffed out Ruby's Lapel a bit then flattened it, wiping off the little dust on it then moved a hair out of Ruby's face that was dangling in front of her. "There." Weiss said and patted Ruby's suit with a small smile and walked off.

Ruby gulped as she was frozen in place. Weiss was extremely close and she swore she smelt perfume on her. She actually regretted not putting some of her's on but she decided to grab it later so she wouldn't miss Weiss's song.

She did as Weiss told and did follow everyone to a large room that had thousands of seats and a large stage with red velvet curtains that were shut. The chairs had names on them which happened to make Ruby excuse herself repeatedly as she searched for her name.

She eventually found it at the front nearest to the stage and sat down, making sure to straighten her back to seem more proper. She looked around as people were sitting and saw Weiss's last name but instead of her name it was Winter.

Ruby then realized it was Weiss's sister and her eyes widened. She wasn't actually expecting out of everything to sit next to her friends sister. Ruby started to play with her hands as she stared at Winter's seat, making sure to view who came near her to check if it was Winter.
