Chapter 3: New Message

Ruby laid on her bed with wet hair sprawled against her pillow, she was messaging with the first person she matched with. His name was Jaune and was actually pretty fun besides him trying to flirt sometimes which was terrible. He couldn't flirt for his life, she found that funny though and enjoyed it. Turned out he actually lives in Vale too.

Ruby's eyes slowly blinked as it was getting harder for her to stay up. It was pretty late and she unknowingly stayed up till 2 AM and knew she'd regret it in the morning.

"Goodnight Jaune, had fun talking to you." Ruby typed to him and laid her phone facing towards her night stand so the light of the screen wouldn't illuminated her bedroom.

Ruby groaned as her phone played a melody that was all to familiar to her. She grabbed her phone and turn the alarm off before sitting straight up on the bed, leg dangling off the side of the bed and walked to the bathroom to do her morning routine.

She looked like a mess; messy hair everywhere, baggy eyes which was always there but somehow looked worse in the morning, dried up salvia from her drooling, a monotone face, and just a tired expression all together.

She walked to her closet after brushing her teeth and hair and grabbed a red t-shirt and black pants. She grabbed her phone and looked at it when she noticed a notification from the dating app.

"Probably Jaune." She said to herself rolling her eyes while smiling.

She unlocked her phone and went to her messages stopping dead in her tracks as she first looked at the name.

"Weiss Schnee" it read in bold black.

She knew of the name, well more of heard it thrown around by people who were enraged by their mistreatment of Faunus's long ago.

Faunus's were a defect mutation in animals as much as anyone could tell they were a mistake during evolution. Some kept their monkey like features that evolved into lesser and lesser noticeable features till it turned into it being just a tail or a single indicator they were part monkey.

Others became other animals after awhile, gaining their ability to cloak themselves like a chameleon, a strength of a bear, a speed of a cheetah, and so on, it was practically a gift that humans hated. Humans were below them and they resented them to the point people were killed for just being born different.

The Schnee family was the most known though, they were the first to actually enslave the species and soon others followed till White Fang was created. After awhile Faunus's got freedom and were treated almost equally.

The Schnee family fought against the movement and laws till Weiss Schnee took over the company, she completely changed the reputation of the company and what it stood for. There were conspiracies made of her but she quickly shot them down but people still came up with new ones to ruin her.

Ruby stared at her screen with widen eyes. She didn't know if it was out of shock or fear. Her thoughts told her it was an obvious cat fish but when she checked out the profile the pictures definitely wasn't something you could probably see when you searched her up. Maybe a few but not a lot.

One was her sitting at her desk in a picture with a white button up shirt and lunched over. She was reading a document with a pile of paper on her left and a cup of pens on the opposite side. Her bun held her hair securely in place as not to blind her from her work.

Another Ruby saw was her shaking hands with a general with gray hair and a few black hair still occupying the man. He had a firm look on his face as he had one arm resting behind his back. Weiss looked at the camera smiling slightly.

She's seen the man before- well heard, he was a famous war general that taught Winter Schnee, who was now controlling her own platoon to sooth down Atlas after an attack not to long ago.

The next was Weiss standing right next to Winter with a small smile on her face. It was mostly to bring warmth to anyone who see the picture which Ruby happily landed on.

It was different in a sense like she was relaxed and at home. The background was surly different, it was outside unlike the other two but Winter shared the same smile as Weiss.

The next was Weiss giving a stern look as she talked publicly to a group. It was public and broadcasted everywhere but the angle told more then the whole advertising she gave. It held power and strength in one photo, it told everyone exactly where she stood.

The thing was Ruby didn't understand why Weiss was on this app, she definitely had a lot of admirers with her beauty.

Ruby moved back to where Weiss's message was- she skimmed over it so she didn't know what it said besides a few words in it.

Weiss: Hello Ruby, I came across your profile and I just wanted to ask if maybe you'd want to talk? I saw your pictures too and I'm quite amazed at them, you look good in the second picture by the way, it captures a different side of you and I like that.

Weiss: Sorry if this to straight forward by the way.

Ruby was stunned at this, Weiss found her good looking. THE Weiss Schnee found a commoner like her attractive. THE Weiss Schnee with snow white hair. THE Weiss Schnee with eyes as cold as ice all the while embodying the saying entirely. THE Weiss Schnee with porcelain skin.

Ruby couldn't believe this. This was fake and she knew it was, but the back of her mind told her otherwise. That it really was her, nobody could pretend to be someone as delicate and graceful as her.

Ruby decided to call Yang while silently panicking. She was the best option to help in this situation even though Ruby knew she really wasn't but couldn't think straight.

"Hello?" Yang answered groggily.

"Yang, Weiss Schnee just messaged me!" Ruby screamed.

"Woah, Ruby hold on." Ruby could hear some shuffling then a door closing through the phone. "Are you joking or..."

"I'm not!" Ruby shrieked. "I'll show you." Ruby took a screenshot of the message and sent it to Yang. She anxiously waited for Yang's response.

"Are you sure this is really her?" Yang asked.

"Yes, her bio checks out and everything." Ruby stated like she knew exactly everything about her.

"Woah. Get that money sis; we're going to be rich!" Yang screamed.

"Yangggg." Ruby whined. "I'm not going to use her like that."

"Look, message her back and be yourself,  you got this." Yang smiled even though Ruby couldn't see it.

"It's easier said then done." Ruby sighed.

"As you said you want friends so why not a rich one?" Yang smirked.

"Yang." Ruby groaned.

"Jokes, jokes." Yang chuckled. "I'll tell Blake to call you when she wakes up okay? She's better at this then I am."

"True." Ruby said. "Thanks."

"No problem sis." Yang said yawning.

Ruby ended the call to let Yang go back in bed with Blake. She shivered at the thought that went through her head.

She took a deep breath before reopening the app to reply back.

Ruby: Hi Weiss's and yes I would love to chat! :) also thank you. You look good in your pictures, especially when you were sitting at your desk and focused.

Ruby: It wasn't straightforward by the way so don't worry XP
