Cassandra Blake
Luckily, Becky hadn't been suspended, but she had been given detention and had been in isolation all week till Friday. Cassie was surprised to find out that Lucinda had been sent home so that she could go to the doctors.
The next time that Cassie saw both girls was on Friday when Becky and Cassie walked to school together. Becky explained that her sister, Ellie had a girlfriend and she had saw red when Lucinda was making homophobic comments.
Cassie understood, but she wasn't a fan of violence for obvious reasons. She couldn't help but feel almost intimidated by Becky after seeing her so angry at Lucinda even though she knew that it was irrational, and that Becky wouldn't hurt her.
They parted ways after Maths for Becky had drama and Cassie had textiles. When it got to lunch Cassie was sat alone in the library and Becky was nowhere to be seen.
A tall boy with dark brown hair, pale skin, brown eyes and a crooked smile walked towards Cassie and she felt sick. The guy, whose name she couldn't recall followed Leah everywhere and therefore was also around Lucinda and Blaise a lot.
Cassie's hands were shaking, and she tried to take deep breathes as he got closer; she was determined not to have a panic attack at school in front of people.
"Lucinda wants to talk to you" he said, now standing in front of where she was sat in the corner.
"W-why?" Cassie stuttered, feeling her heart beating abnormally fast out of fear.
He took another step forward, causing Cassie to flinch. "Why don't you come find out?" He asked with a sinister smirk.
"I-I think I'll stay here" Cassie said, shaking her head. She didn't want to go anywhere with him, and she certainly didn't want to see Lucinda.
The boy looked angry, and Cassie immediately knew that she should have just agreed. His hands reached out to grab her arm and he pulled her up.
"I said that she wants to speak to you! God you really are stupid" he informed her, grabbing onto her small arm, and dragging her with him.
Cassie was shaking and feeling absolutely terrified for she knew that something bad was going to happen.
She wanted to scream at him and run as far as she could. However, he was much taller and stronger than she was, and she knew that she had no chance, plus her body was already covered in bruises and scars.
So, despite her fear she went willingly to where Lucinda stood on the field outside. There were several people sat eating lunch, but in the corner, it was just Lucinda, Blaise, Leah, and a few guys.
Becky was also there with a guy holding her arms, but she was kicking and screaming.
Cassie found herself wondering where the teachers were, only to see one at the far end staring right at them and not doing a single thing. At that moment Cassie lost all hope.
"I can't believe that you two thought that it would be okay to hurt me and cause me so much trouble" Lucinda laughed, seemingly finding the fact that the two boys holding Cassie and Becky were holding onto their arms hard enough to leave bruises funny.
At that moment, Lucinda looked eviller than Cassie had ever seen her. She had a smirk on her face as she walked closer to Cassie.
"I promised that JJ would get something special for getting you for me" she said, still smiling as if she were innocent.
"What did you promise him?" Cassie asked, feeling her insides fill with fear.
Lucinda moved closer and whispered into Cassie's ear, words so terrible that Cassie felt her heart stop and all her faith in humanity was lost.
At that moment Cassie knew that the only thing left to do was fight back, because everything depended on her and Becky getting away.
"Go to hell Lucinda" Cassie spat.
Everyone, including Becky looked at her in surprise.
Lucinda, however, just looked bored. "Been there and done that, all thanks to you. You know Cassie, you have always walked around like you're better than everyone, and it's time that you were brought down a bit. You are no better than us"
"I have never, for one second thought that I was better than you! All that I've ever done is sit here and take whatever shit that you give and now I've had fucking enough! You just take everything out on me, and I haven't done a thing to you!"
"You took everything from me, and you still don't know anything about me at all! Your mother took everything" Lucinda almost whispered.
"What does my mum have to do with anything?" Cassie asked in confusion.
Lucinda laughed bitterly "Ben, let Becky go. Everyone else leave I want to talk to Cassie"
Everyone hesitated, but left at Lucinda's words, not wanting to go against her.
Becky stayed, and Lucinda rolled her eyes but didn't protest.
"You really don't know do you?" Lucinda asked, her ocean blue eyes beginning to water.
"Know what?" Cassie wondered what Lucinda could possibly have to say about her late mother, who had been the best person that Cassie had ever had the pleasure of knowing.
"You two weren't alone in the car"
"How do you even know about the car accident?"
"Because my dad was in it too" Lucinda whispered.
Everything that Cassie knew suddenly was a lie. After she woke up, she didn't remember a thing that had happened in the week leading up to the car crash and although they thought that her memory would come back it never did. Apparently, a drunk driver had crashed into the front of her mum's car, killing her instantly. From what she was told, they had been alone in the car.
Cassie was unconscious for two days and came back to school with crutches and a dead mother which was when the bullying had begun.
"You're lying. We were the only ones there"
"No, you weren't. My dad was there too, and he was having an affair with your mum. He was going to leave my mum to be with her and he had told me that he was going to meet her and then come back to get me" Lucinda explained, crying.
"You are lying!" Cassie shouted.
"No, I'm not! It was all your fault, if it weren't for you and your whore of a mother he would still be here!"
"My mother was not a whore! You know what Lucinda, you are nothing but a pathetic little bitch who enjoys making my life miserable because you have nothing better to do" Cassie had officially had enough, and she had snapped. She had never yelled at anyone like that before but standing up for herself felt good.
That was, however, until Lucinda's eyes began to water, and she turned around before proceeding to run.
Cassie turned to Becky, feeling stunned. She felt bad for being mean to Lucinda and was sure that standing up for herself made her just as bad as Lucinda.
Becky hugged Cassie "it's okay" she insisted. "It's about time that you stand up for yourself, don't feel bad"
"It makes me just as bad as her" Cassie argued, feeling her eyes water.
"No, it doesn't. She has no right to be horrible to you, and even if what she said was true, that doesn't make it right for her to take her anger out on you"
"B-But I was horrible to her just then. I probably deserve everything that she's done to me. I made her cry"
"You were just standing up for yourself Cassie. Something that you should have done a long, long time ago"
