Becky made her way home that night with a smile. It was nice to have someone that she could call a friend, even if she still barely knew Cassie.

Still, the thought of how badly Cassie was treated at school made Becky want to scream. It wasn't right, and Becky knew that she would have to make Cassie aware that it was okay to stand up for herself because from what she saw Cassie seemed to just let them do whatever they wanted.

"Hey" a voice said, making her jump.

"Oh, hi Stefan. You scared me" Becky replied, feeling nervous.

He grinned down at her "sorry. How was your day at school?" He asked.

"It was good today. How was your day?" Stefan was becoming a sort of friend to Becky too, and she now found it easier to talk to him. He was however still beautiful and out of her league which was why whenever she was around him, she felt her heart stop.

"Mine was okay too. A bit boring though. Have you made any friends yet?"

"Yeah, a girl called Cassie. Do you have a lot of friends at your school?"

"Yeah, I guess, there's quite a few of us in my group. Oh, there's this guy I know that's apparently dating a girl at your school called Lucinda"

Becky pulled a face "poor guy" she said.

"You don't like her?"

Becky frowned, wandering how to phrase it nicely. "She just doesn't seem like a great person"

"Oh well, I'm surprised she even exists. The guys pretty much a loner, he's called Cade"

Becky rolled her eyes "unfortunately she does exist"

"Wow, you really don't like her, do you?" Stefan asked, clearly surprised.

Becky tried to stop scowling, but found it was difficult. "I just don't like people who make other people feel like shit" she replied.

"Has she been bothering you?" Stefan had stopped walking and stared at her.

"No, not me but someone I know. Don't worry I don't put up with people's shit, she couldn't bother me if she tried"

"Oh, okay good. So, are there any guys you like at your school?" He grinned, teasing her.

"No. Any girls at your school?"

"Not really, my ex-girlfriend and I recently broke up"

"Oh, I'm sorry" Becky lied.

"Nah, she cheated on me. I'm better off now, plus there is a girl in my Technology class that I like"

Becky frowned in annoyance. She knew that she didn't have a chance with him anyway but still, that didn't prevent her from being angry. "Oh, that's good" she lied again.

"Yeah, I'm thinking of asking her out this weekend"

Stefan was grinning, staring off into space. Hadn't he said that there weren't really any girls at his school? Hadn't he just said that he had just broken up with his girlfriend? Becky thought in annoyance. She wasn't surprised though because men were pigs.

"Good for you. Well, I better go my house is right here. Bye" Becky said rudely, unlocking the door to her house and going inside. She would never understand boys and all of their mixed signals.

"Hey Becky, I didn't get any pictures of your food today. What have you eaten?" Her dad asked, seemingly coming out of nowhere.

Becky sighed in annoyance, knowing that she couldn't exactly get away from him. "I had some toast for breakfast and a ham sandwich for lunch with some crisps"

Becky's dad raised his eyebrows. "I don't believe you Becky. I want pictures of your food, and if you forget again, you're grounded. Also, where have you been? School finished a while ago"

"I forgot once for the first time in months! That's not fair Dad" Becky argued, feeling like a child. "And also, I went to that coffee shop with my friend and ate some cake" Becky was slowly becoming a compulsive liar.

"Oh, that's good" he replied, looking surprised.

Becky rolled her eyes, acting like the immature teenager that she was. She did feel guilty for lying to him, but like her mum had always told her, she needed to lose weight.

"Yeah. I'm going upstairs, I'll come back down for dinner"

"Okay, next time send me a text if you're staying out"

"Okay"

Later that night Becky tried calling her mother, only for it to go to voicemail, which was nothing new.

Becky's mum had walked out on them after cheating on their dad. The thing was though was that Becky blamed herself; her mum had always been telling Becky that her fights that she was getting into were causing the family to fall apart.

Becky would defend her sister again in a heartbeat, but she still felt guilty that she had drove their mum away, and into the arms of another, more perfect family.

Becky's mum had always been the one trying to get Becky to lose weight, because apparently being 125lbs was overweight. After their mum left, Becky stopped eating, hoping to be the perfect daughter that their mum had always wanted.

Now Becky was five and a half feet tall and still very underweight at just 100lbs. It would never be enough for Becky though because no matter what she did she felt like she needed to lose more. She needed to be the perfect daughter for her mum to come back, and it was becoming more and more of an unhealthy obsession to be perfect.
