Cassandra Blake
On Saturday Cassie didn't leave her room. She had a bottle of water in her cupboard in which she kept for emergencies and drank that.
Her father had banged on her door a few times during the day, screaming at her and demanding her to make him food whilst calling her names.
Cassie had smiled slightly as she had a chair in front of her door, preventing anyone from entering as she sat on the floor feeling depressed. She wished that she could be doing something like have the TV on to distract her from the depressing thoughts that she was worthless.
She had an old IPOD with songs that she liked when she was a child (which was all happy noughties crap that she didn't like anymore) and a Nokia phone in which she had owned for years.
So, she didn't really have any distractions as her father came to her door, yelling again. He sounded even drunker than he had earlier and angrier too.
"Get the fuck out of your room you worthless bitch! I'm hungry"
Cassie rolled her eyes and yelled back "no". She was fully aware that she was signing her death certificate, talking back to him but she couldn't care less.
She couldn't move much anyway due to what he had done to her the evening before. He had dragged her downstairs and cut her on her legs with a knife before proceeding to punch her in the face so hard that she had almost passed out. She wasn't very confident about hiding her black eye at school the following Monday.
"I am going to kill you!" He shouted back.
Cassie laughed slightly. She kind of hoped that he would. "Go ahead"
"No one would miss you, you little slut. You deserve to fucking die" he insisted maliciously.
Cassie shrugged even though he couldn't see her. "Glad that we agree on something for once" she yelled through the door.
He swore before storming downstairs.
Cassie didn't feel scared at the thought of facing him anymore. She just felt numb and the stinging pain in her body didn't bother her the same way that it used to.
She shouldn't have talked back, and she would be surprised if he didn't make good on his promise to kill her when she left the room. Still, that didn't seem to faze her.
She just felt broken and she wasn't sure that anyone cared anymore.

The next day Cassie left her room. It was seven o'clock in the evening and her dad had gone out somewhere.
She stared at the food in disgust, having practically no appetite. She was struggling to walk down the stairs as her legs and ribs felt as though they were on fire. She told herself that she deserved the pain though and made some food for her dad, or Liam as she should probably just call him.
Now that she knew that she wasn't his daughter she didn't care as much that he hurt her. She deserved it in a way, and she understood his anger at being stuck with her.
As she was making a stir fry, she heard the door unlock, followed by multiple voices and laughter. Cassie froze in fear at the sound and looked for an escape route. There wasn't one and she didn't think that she would be able to get away from the four horrible men that she knew would be in her hallway.
Quickly, she got her phone out and rang 999, telling them her address and saying that she was injured and was about to be beat up. The operator on the other end insisted that she stayed on the phone, but she quickly hung up knowing that her father would go crazy at the sight of her phone. She knew that she didn't deserve what they would do to her. She might deserve what Liam did, but she could not let them do that.
She put it in the bin before going back to the stir fry, knowing that there was nowhere to hide. Her father's friends were probably eviler than him and every time that they were at her house she barely managed to escape.
Her father definitely wouldn't care what they did after she had locked herself in her room for a couple of days.
Suddenly a door slammed, and Cassie stood still waiting.
"Cassie, I see you have finally left your room. I think that you deserve a punishment after yesterday" Liam said with a grin once he saw her in the living room.
Cassie was terrified. She turned the oven off and went into the living room, praying that the police would come in time.
All the men looked drunk, but still they were much bigger and stronger than she was. She didn't stand a chance.

Liam smirked and looked at one of his friends who looked the strongest. He was called Tim and had always stared at her to the point where she was uncomfortable.
Two of the men who were stood by the door stormed over to her and grabbed her arms roughly, forcing her to a chair.
Cassie finally found her voice and screamed like a banshee whilst trying to kick them. "Get the fuck off me!"
Tim smirked, coming up to her. "No escape for you now is there you little bitch?" he asked, before putting a hand around her throat, cutting off her voice.
Cassie kicked him whilst moving her arms, trying desperately to escape the two men holding her back. She looked at Liam pleadingly, but he just grinned sadistically.
Cassie was struggling to breathe when he let go, no doubt leaving finger marks around her throat.
He punched her left rib and she screamed as he tore her top. He picked up a silver knife from the table and cut her arms causing her to scream out in pain.
Finally, after four cuts, she heard sirens. The men didn't pay any attention, probably thinking that she wouldn't have had the time or the guts to call the police.
Tim smirked at her and moved his hand towards her when they heard banging on the front door. The four men looked at each other in confusion and Liam went towards the door, glaring at Cassie on the way.

"You better not have called anyone bitch" Tim warned.
Cassie smirked. "Well, if I had you wouldn't be in a position to get away"
And she was right. Her body was pretty much black and blue and if you looked at his knuckles it was obvious that Tim had punched someone. He wasn't going to get away now, especially if there were police at the front of the house.
A police officer suddenly stormed into the room followed by two others. The four men stated yelling as chaos followed and Cassie let out a sigh of relief.
One of the police officers, a small blonde woman went to her and helped her out of the door and to an ambulance.
After that it was pretty much a blur, followed by questions, being rushed into hospital, and a needle in her arm. Cassie found herself loosing conscience and suddenly the world was black.
