Cassandra Blake
A week later Cassie made her way out of a car slamming the door shut behind her. It had been a while since she had really been outside, and she was happy to feel the sun against her face again.
"Cassie, it's that house right there. Follow me and we can finish filling the paperwork out together" Lisa, her social worker explained, pointing to a house opposite.
It was more like a mansion really, and Cassie could tell that they were in a wealthy area. The house was white, with ivy going up the walls and there was a large garden at the front with scooters, bikes and toys scattered around. There was also a large gate and a security camera on the wall.
Walking up to the gate, Lisa pressed a button, beginning to talk when there was a beeping sound. "It's Lisa, I'm here with Cassandra Blake" she spoke.
The gate opened as though by magic, and Cassie sighed as she followed Lisa down the path leading to the front door.
Cassie had met Carly a few days before and had made the decision to live with her till she turned eighteen. She was a kind woman, with curly chocolate brown hair and dark brown eyes. She was in her late thirties, but her beautiful dark skin made her look as though she were in her early twenties.
She had explained that she had been abused when she was younger and that she had dedicated her life to helping young girls in situations like hers.
When Carly opened the door, Cassie instantly smiled at seeing her. After only meeting her once, Cassie already knew that they would get along and she looked up to Carly after hearing her backstory.
Carly smiled at Cassie. "I think that you already finished filling in your part of the paperwork in Cassie. I can get one of the girls to show you your room if you like? I hope it's okay that you'll be sharing with someone else, she's the same age as you, just a couple of months younger"
Cassie nodded along, fairly sure that she didn't exactly have a choice. The thought of meeting more new people made her feel slightly sick, especially as it was someone the same age as her.
Carly smiled, inviting them both into the living room area, which was surprisingly empty despite children's toys scattered around the floor.
"Sorry for the mess. We haven't cleaned up yet this morning" Carly explained, smiling sheepishly. "Let me just grab Blaise for you and she will show you the room you'll be sharing. I'm sure that you two will get along just great" she grinned, before running out the room and shouting "Blaise"
Cassie froze slightly and felt herself going pale. It couldn't be the Blaise from school, could it? Blaise wasn't a common name though, and she had said that they were the same age. Oh god, Blaise hated her. What was she going to do? She couldn't stay here. Shit.
"Cassie? Are you okay?" Lisa asked her in concern.
Cassie realised that her hands were shaking and that she was breathing slightly abnormally. "I- am I"
"Its okay. Just breathe with me, in and out" Lisa advised.
Cassie copied Lisa's breathing, and felt herself calming down slightly, thankful that it wasn't really a full-on panic-attack like she had had in the past. "Thankyou"
"It's okay. We have all been there. If you change your mind about staying here or want to talk just let me or Carly know. She has a landline that you can use as I know that you don't have a phone anymore"
"Cassie dear this is Blaise. Blaise please show her to the room that you'll both be sharing and please just be nice"
Blaise rolled her eyes as she came into the room and froze at the sight of Cassie, before quickly putting on a fake smile. "Oh, we know each other. Come on Cassie, I'll show you where our room is", she stated, before turning and leaving the room.
