And the day had arrived. It was the day when the Evans were moving to Kentucky and, even though I knew I was going to miss Sam, I wasn't able to get out of bed and go to say goodbye.
We had all agreed to go and say goodbye to him. Nothing to fancy or special, just saying goodbye to a friend, but I just didn't have the courage. Maybe that was why I lied and said I was sick so I didn't have to go. And everyone got mad as hell at me for doing so. Understandable.
I was about to try to sleep when I got a text message from Kurt telling me to meet him on the Lima Bean.
Chat w/Kurtie glee💜
Hi!!!! Can you meet me at the Lima Bean? It's kind of important
I'm still sick
He's already gone, you don't have to lie anymore. Can you please come??? It's kinda important
Ugh, fine. But I wasn't lying.
I know you're lying but ✨okay✨
I hate you
No you don't. Come on, you'll thank me.
I groaned and grabbed the first thing I could find in my wardrobe to go to the stupid coffee shop. After a fifteen minutes bus ride I saw Kurt at the bus stop waiting for me.
"I hope this is important" I said as I walked to him. He rolled his eyes with a smile and began to walk to the café. "So, what's happening?"
"I need to get my coffee first, I don't have the strength to go through this without a latte" I rolled my eyes and continued walking but when we arrived at the entrance of the place he touched his pocket worried. "Shoot! I forgot my wallet in the car. Wait, I'm gonna go get it".
And before I could complain or say anything I was left alone at the door of the coffee shop. I groaned and rolled my eyes. However, my mind quickly went to think what could be so important. Something about Blaine? No, I don't think so, they just said the l word to each other last week, nothing could go wrong. Something about Finn, Mercedes or Quinn? A gossip? Something about Sam? I couldn't be more clueless.
"Roxy?" I heard someone behind me. My body completely froze. It couldn't be. No. They told me he was already gone. I slowly turned around and saw Sam, hands in his pockets, and with a face that I couldn't read. "Hi".
"Hi" I mumbled nervously. "I thought you were already gone".
"I got a little more time, I needed to be by myself for a minute. And you? Feeling better?" he said, nervous as well.
"Yeah, yeah, better" I lied. Seeing him there was making me feel every single way except better.
"Do you want to go for a walk?" he asked after an akward silence.
"I'm actually waiting for Kurt. He went to the car to grab his wallet" I said, trying to excuse myself. However, his 'really?' face made everything clear. He and Kurt arranged this so me and Sam could say goodbye. I took a deep breath and, even though I was thinking not in a good way in my friend, I nodded.
We both began to walk in silence with no direction. And we walked and walked and walked until we were in the middle of nowhere, but with a very nice view of all Lima. I was about to ask where we were going when Sam suddenly sat on the ground admiring the landscape. I silently sat next to him and look at the view too. It was really really beautiful.
