"All right, New Directions! Big news!" Mr Schue exclaimed as he walked into the choir room. "As you all know, Vocal Adrenaline came in second last year".
"The only good thing to come out of that lost weekend" Finn mumbled, getting a huge nudge from an angry Rachel and some weird looks. "Besides us getting back together, of course".
"Well, the boosters at Carmel don't donate tens of thousands of dollars every year to come in second, so they fired Dustin Goolsby" Mr Schue declared.
"So handsome" Artie admitted, erning a few nods and some strange looks.
"And they're having trouble finding a new coach" our teacher continued. "Seems like no one wants to take on that pressure cooker".
"That means they're vulnerable" Tina smirked.
"Yes. And if we work hard enough we can beat them" Mr Schuester said, trying to motivate us. "Which is why I've realized that, um... I can't direct the musical this year".
"But, Mr Schue, you can't cancel the musical! My New York dreams depend on it!" Rachel exclaimed desperately.
"I'm not canceling it, I'm just not directing it" he said, trying to calm her down. "My whole focus has to be here: Nationals! Nationals! Nationals! And it's not just me that's going to have to focus harder this year. I've been too easy on you. So, every day after choir practice, I'm instituting a mandatory 'Booty Camp' so that we can work on our dancing"
"Wow, the name sounds horrible and kinda inappropriate" I whispered to Artie, who was sitting next to me.
"Now, it's not for all of you, just for the people that I think need help like..."
"Finn" Finn mumbled apathetic.
"How did you know?" our teacher chuckled. "And Puckerman, Hummel..."
"I must protest!" Kurt inmediately complained.
"You have only one move, Kurt, and it's like this sashay and it's super distracting" Mike said, surprising everyone.
"Jones".
"What? Hell to the nizzie-no" my best friend said before enumerating every reason why she was too amazing for the new dance practice with a terrible name.
"You once told me you were Beyonce. Don't you think she spends extra time in the dance studio?" he asked, making her seethe. "And Henderson".
"What? Why me? You never said anything about my dancing" I complained as I felt my self-esteem glow down and my insecurities manifesting.
"And I don't, but you're on the line between good and great and if you can improve your moves as much as you did with your voice last year, you will be amazing. And it's no secret that Mercedes and Finn will be on a better mood if you come".
"I hate you so both much" I said to my best friends as I tighted up my ponytail.
"MIke Chang has offered to be my assistant and we start tomorrow. And yes, Puckerman and Roxy, it's mandatory".
"Mr Schuester, would you mind if I dropped by for a bit?" Blaine shyly asked. "I really need to catch up with you guys".
"Okay, Mr Schue, I'm glad that you're concerned with our 'special needs' members but what about me? Who's gonna direct my musical?" Rachel bursted out, making everyone roll their eyes at her.
"Ladies and gentlemen, your co-musical directors!" our teacher announced as Coach Beiste and Miss Pillsbury entered into the choir room. "Now, Miss Pillsbury did such a great job helping me out with Rocky Horror last year that I knew she could handle the job".
