Josh's POV:
I'm flicking through the channels on TV when I spot a familiar face. There I am, a smirk creeping up on my face, a thin white shirt and pants draped over a damaged version of me. Not to mention I'm blonde. Oh, hey Peeta. Haven't seen you in a while. I conclude it's the trailer.
"Hey, Jen!" I call upstairs. "Yeah?" "The Mockingjay trailer's on." I call back. "Be down in a sec!" A few moments later she comes bounding down the stairs with her shirt only halfway on. I laugh. "You need help, Jen?" I ask. She's struggling to fit her elbow through her sleeve. "I got it." I tell her. I grab the bottom of her shirt and pull it down. She straightens it a little before smiling at me with a laugh. "Thanks." She says. "You're welcome." I respond, a smirk appearing on my face. She raises her eyebrow. "What's with the smirk, baby?" She asks. "Nothing. Just thinking of a few nights ago." She rolls her eyes. At first I think she might be annoyed, but then I notice the grin on her face.
She comes to her senses when she hears the Mockingjay whistle. She rushes over to the TV to see the logo flash on the screen before going to some car commercial. "Oh, Peeta, we just missed the...." A grin forms on my face. "Jen..." I say. She looks at me as a sign of her attention. "You just called me Peeta." Her mouth drops open to say something, but all she can do is look down at the floor in disbelief as her eyes dart around. She then breaks out into laughter. She buries her head in her hands. "I did?" She finally asks me with a huge smile. "Yeah.." She laughs even harder. "I'm sorry, Joshy." I nod at her. "It's fine.... Katniss." I give her a sheepish grin.
I walk over to the TV and grab the remote off the coffee table. I'm able to rewind the TV so we can watch the trailer. On the screen the word "PREPARE" is in huge golden letters. There's a flash of a conversation between a damaged Peeta and a scared looking Katniss. "FOR THE REVOLUTION": A shot of Katniss and Peeta shooting guns. "That was fun." I say to Jen. She nods with a smile. "THAT WILL SPARE SOME": A shot of the kiss outside the tunnel for a split second, then Katniss grabbing Peeta's wrists and looking into his crazed eyes. "AND DESTROY OTHERS": A shot of Mitchell being thrown into a plume of black fog. "ON NOVEMBER 20TH": A really quick montage of a bunch of cool action scenes. Jen and I look at each other shyly when we spot a smiling Katniss and Peeta that just so happen to have no shirts on. Just before the Mockingjay logo, there's a bit longer of a clip of Katniss yelling and screaming and trying to break free of the grasp of rebel guards. I spot the blonde me through the crowd of rebel guards, and I hear Peeta yell, "Katniss!" and Katniss yell back, "Peeta!" The Mockingjay Part 2 logo appears and the signature whistle sounds, and then one of those deep voiced trailer dudes says "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part Two. Rated PG-13. In theaters November 20th. Tickets on sale October 25th."
I pause the TV and look at Jen.
We stare at each other, our mouths wide open with smiles appearing on our faces. Jen breaks the silence. "Okay... That looks badass." I nod in agreement. She continues. "If it wasn't my own movie, I'd totally preorder tickets." I nod again. "That scene, that very last scene in the trailer where you're being taken by the guards, it was actually pretty emotional." I say. She laughs. "Joshy, that whole damn MOVIE is emotional." I smile. "I know, but I mean emotional to film. You know, to see you being taken away from me, shouting my fictional name..." I chuckle slightly. My face goes back to serious when I say, "Struggling." She gives me a look. "I'm serious, Jen!" She puts a hand on my arm. "So it came naturally to you, then?" She asks with a gentle smile. I nod. "I guess so, yeah." She makes a puppy face. "Awww... You're so cute, Josh." She gives me a kiss.
"You know.." She says. "That's actually the first time we hear Peeta yell Katniss. It's normally Katniss screaming Peeta's name all the time." She pauses. "All... the... fucking... time." I laugh. "It's so annoying!" She groans, emphasizing annoying. I nod. "Well yeah, because Peeta's the badass one." I tell her. She makes a face before nudging me. "Katniss is the badass one." She says. "Katniss is an emotionally wrecked badass, which makes her a little less badass." Jen laughs. "Umm... Josh. Remember where we left off in Part 1? Peeta tied to a bed freaking the actual fuck out? You have the audacity to say Peeta's not emotionally wrecked at that moment?" I grin at her. "Keywords at that moment." She rolls her eyes. "You're too much, JHutch." I laugh. "I like that. When did you come up with that?" I ask her. "Just now." She responds with a grin. "Well..." I pause. "You're too tall, JLaw." She laughs. "Kinda works." She says. "Kinda." I reply, giving her a kiss.
I un-pause the TV and put an arm around Jen. She rests her head on my shoulder and we rest there watching some guy make some pastries or something. The trailer replays through my head and I think of a possible plan for the Part Two premiere I have in mind as I sit here with the only person I'm certain I love.
How does Jennifer Hutcherson sound?
