Josh’s POV:

“No, not there! Over there! The banner has to be over there!” I hear crewmen shout as they bring out the humongous Mockingjay Part 2 banner from a truck. I can hear their voices over the music on my phone as I stand there watching them set up. For some reason, I decided to listen to the beach music from the second Hunger Games, and I picture Jennifer and I standing there on the red carpet as a crewmember rolls it out onto the ground, imagining when I ask her “the question.”

Past the long winding streets of Los Angeles, my character’s favorite kind of sunset looms in the distance near the more rural areas of the city. A soft orange sunset, with small bits of yellow and deep red. I stare at it as the music from my phone plays.

Out of the corner of my eye, I spot Francis walking up behind me. “Hey, Josh. You excited for tonight?” I smile at him and nod. “Yeah.” I must’ve given him a weak smile because he looks at me with a bit of concern. “You okay?” He asks. I offer him a bigger smile. “Yeah! Just uh… Mixed emotions right now. That’s all.” I pause. “It’s great that we’re all together again, but it’s for one last time.” Francis sighs. “Yeah. It is kinda sad, isn’t it?” I nod.

Francis looks down at my phone as I lean against the temporary gate. “Whatcha listening to?” He asks. I wake up my phone screen and show him. He smiles when he notices it’s the beach scene music. “James Newton Howard is a genius, isn’t he?” I nod.

“Francis…” He looks back up at me curiously. “If I wanted to…say…propose to Jennifer, you would offer your support, right?” Francis’s face lights up. “Of course I would, Josh! You know… You might even want to propose sometime during the premiere.” I grin at him. “That was my plan.”

“Mr. Lawrence! Where would you recommend we put this part of the banner?” A crewman asks Francis, showing a piece of the white banner that has “Mockingjay Part 2” scattered all over it. “Ah…” He says, turning back to me for a brief moment. “I have to go, Josh. But I will see you tonight, and as always may the odds be ever in your favor.” I laugh. “Thank you Francis.” He smiles, nods, and walks off with the crewman to set up the banner.

I look down at my phone when I get a text from Sam. Turns out, it wasn’t just from Sam. A group chat with everyone but Jennifer has apparently started.

Sam: So bread-boy, when’s the day you’re gonna pop the question?

I smile and roll my eyes at my phone.

Josh: Honestly, idk

Josh: w8 is Jen in this convo?

Liam: Nopeeeee

I double check the group chat list to be sure they’re not setting me up. She actually isn’t in the convo. Okay.

Josh: Sometime this week.

Jena: Aww, so cute Josh! You’re gonna propose to her at the premiere! What a QT idea!

Woody: sweet

Elizabeth: I wish you the best of luck, Josh! And MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOR

Josh: Haha. Thx, Liz.

Liam: Good luck, mate.

Josh: Well guys, I appreciate all the wishes and may the odds be ever in my favor. I got a LOT of work to do beforehand, so I’ll ttyl
