CHAPTER 42 Amber

Few days have passed, I put all my attention into studying all our lessons for the upcoming first-day examination tomorrow. The examination day will last for three days. I knew I had some time to review but I wanted to go in advance.

Right now, my palm rested against my temple I reviewed my final answers for our quiz.

I put my pen down once I was done and leaned against the support of my chair. Sighing deeply. I wandered my eyes around the room as we are all seated at a one-seat-apart distance while taking a long quiz.

"May mga questions na wala sa mga na-lesson." Kevin said quietly but I could sense the smirk on his face.

I nodded. "Kaya nga sinagutan ko nalang eh."

Our heads both faced in front as we got mentioned again by Ms. Sanchez. "Mr. Villanueva and Mr. Fernandez, what are you doing? Halatado kayo masyado."

Both of us cleared our throats to refrain from laughing and we stood up, walking towards her.

I handed my paper along with the questionnaire. Kevin did the same as we walked back to our seats. "Next time, huwag masyadong halata." Ms. Sanchez whispered.

Everybody started to pass their papers and some students were already walking out of the room.

"Tara na. Wala namang klase mamayang hapon for preparation of exam tomorrow." Eusaff exclaimed.

"Exactly! My place. PlayStation." Kevin smirked while leaning against the wall now.

I sat on my chair quietly while finding the right words to say to them that I have different plans later without being teased.

Once we were walking down the hallway, I whispered. "I'm going to ask Cynthia to have lunch with me."

My friends patted my back gently, smirking. "Sabi na eh go ask her before it's too late. Kaya pala ang tahimik mo kanina." Eusaff chuckled.

"Lagi namang tahimik si Enzo ah. Ikaw lang naman maingay." Kevin exclaimed leading the way. Eusaff rolled his eyes as he playfully straggled Kevin from behind.

We were almost out of campus and I haven't asked her yet. But as soon as I gained my courage to do so, a guy—with the same height as me ­came up next to her and hugged her.

A strange feeling hung on my chest while I watched them talked happily. My friends' whispers made everything even more annoying when I hear them say,

"Oh!"

"Shit!"

"Okay lang 'yan, hindi pa huli ang lahat."

I shrugged off the feeling as if nothing happened. Regardless of how I tried to avoid the two, my eyes automatically watched them intently.

They seemed like they each other for a very long time. It was like they made history and memories together ever since.

Once the two have parted ways, I watched Fia and Cynthia walked away while awkward coughs behind me breaking the silence. Sighing secretly as cleared my throat, I muttered.

"Tara na."

Eusaff whistled while his eyes widen awkwardly and started the car. Kevin, on the other hand, looked like he wanted to say something, instead, he shut his mouth and got in the backseat.

In that whole afternoon, we mostly spent our time in the mall eating, walking, and playing arcade games. Surprisingly and thankfully, they didn't bring up what we saw earlier. Besides, it wasn't my business, anyway.
