CHAPTER 26
ENZO'S POV
"Oh shit!"
Okay, I didn't mean to say it out loud.
I never wanted anyone to see me exhausted especially my parents' friends. I was certain she knew that I was wasted last night since Eusaff brought me in their home and let me sleep in the guest room.
"Pardom me, tita. Good morning." I said, embarrassedly as I walked towards the kitchen, sitting down on one of the barstools across Eusaff. A sly smile spread over his annoying face while looking at me.
Tita Clairence just giggled at us. Annoyedly, I stared back at him while Aling Marie put a fried egg and pieces of bacon on my plate.
"Eu, quit staring. Sabihin mo na. Nakaka-umay yang mukha mo." I whispered to him across the counter and started to eat my breakfast.
He chuckled at him then shrugged his shoulders as if he knew something that I don't know about. I shook my head and continue to eat then suddenly, he said,
"Wala ka bang naaalala kagabi?" He seemed to be in a good mood and looked like he didn't go to the club and got wasted.
O baka ako lang wasted kagabi?
"Mhm?" I glanced at my friend sitting across from me and still, the smirk appeared on his face when he said again,
"Maliban sa muntik ka nang maghubad sa harapan ko kagabi kasi sabi mo 'maiinit' pero sobrang lamig sa guest room, wala ka ba talagang naaalala?"
I stopped chewing the bacon in my mouth as I glanced at Tita Clairence who was enjoying her food. Aling Marie was too busy cleaning the kitchen since she refused to join us for a while.
"Eusaff..." I warned but gave him a pleading eye. He nodded then glanced at his mother who was looking at me.
"Enzo, okay lang! Don't worry, 'di ko sasabihin sa parents mo. Just make sure next time drink responsibly ha?" She smiled at me, sweetly. I nodded my head and mumbled 'thanks' as I darted my eyes back to Eusaff.
I gave him the 'we-need-to-talk' look and luckily, he understood right away and nodded at me as we continue to eat our breakfast.
A few minutes later, I offered Aling Marie that Eusaff and I will clean the kitchen since we needed some alone time. Tita Clairence went to their restaurant and got herself busy.
When Eusaff was washing the dishes and I was wiping the dirt off on the counter and other parts of the kitchen, I heard him cleared his throat and said,
"Wala ba talaga?" His back was facing me. I sighed deeply and rested my back against the counter and said,
"I remember all of it when I was sober pero eventually blurred na yung iba." I tried to remember the other scenario in my head but still, they were blurred.
When Eusaff was done, he dried off his hand with a paper towel and threw it in the bin, sitting down. He was looking at me, intently wanting me to go on with my story then I added,
"Pero meron yung boses ng babae na sobrang familiar, man. Parang—" I stopped.
No. It can't be. She can't be. Matagal na siyang wala.
"Parang sino?" Eusaff exclaimed. I shook my head to get rid of the thought as I stood up properly and said,
"Wala wala. Hatid mo naman ako sa bahay, bro." He sighed at me and nodded as he walked upstairs to get his car keys. I bid my goodbyes to Aling Marie and went to the front yard to wait for Eusaff.
