CHAPTER 35 

CYNTHIA'S POV

During my working hours, all of my co-workers were so nice to me especially Emily except this one girl who always gives Enzo's order. – Maxie.

She had been giving me these stares that I couldn't comprehend what it was trying to say. So, instead of staring back at her, I smiled and it seemed like she gave me a sarcastic one.

We also had a short talk and I've heard her voice many times while we were working and not to judge though, she had this breathless voice as if she ran a kilometer away.

AJ was also there with her two friends. They have been calling me on their table after I had served the orders of the customers. Asking and asking about Enzo.

But during those times, I nearly lost my calm and bright expression towards AJ and her friends while I was putting their order on the table.

"Cynthia, may itsura ka naman pero ewan ko kung ano nakita sa'yo ni Enzo. Kung bakit ang close niyong dalawa. I bet you're not even his type. Heck, baka nga napilitan lang siyang maging partner ka sa activity." AJ exclaimed.

She was looking up at me with a slight smirk on her lips while drinking. Her two friends covered their mouths to hide a giggle.

I looked at her straight in the eyes.

"Alexis, hindi ko alam kung saan papatungo 'tong usapan pero type man niya ako o hindi, napilitan man siya or what, basta ang akin nandito ako para magsumikap. The hell I care about all those things." I exclaimed.

I gave her a kind smile. The three of them went quiet as her two friends didn't dare to look in my direction while AJ was looking at me with an annoyed expression.

"Akala mo kung sino kang magsalit—"

I cut her off.

"I'm just a nobody." I smiled brightly at her with a cheering voice and I added, "Enjoy your order!"

I had no idea why they had to choose this kind of hours to talk to me and gave me an attitude. I felt a little irritated and annoyed at the same time but as much as possible I had to remain calm.

The time when my first day of work ended, I didn't expect someone in front of the café would be waiting for me.

I smiled as my stress faded away when I saw her presence in front of me as I approached her and playfully covered her phone.

"Hoy! Masyado ka ng tutok dyan." I chuckled at Fia as she looked up from her phone to look at me.

"Hi!" She said cheerfully. She was resting her back against a gray car, smiling at me. Suddenly, she turned around and click the unblock button of her car key.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion as I stared at her. She moved her head telling me to get in and I did. Closing the passenger door, I said,

"Hindi ko alam na may sasakyan ka." She finally drove off to my dorm and I added, "At, bakit mo 'ko hinintay?"

She shrugged her shoulders and I saw the corner of her lips lifted slightly. "Gabi na kasi."

I chuckled at her, shaking my head as I looked at the road ahead.

"Tsaka, tagal nating hindi nagsama. Ayoko man aminin pero namiss kita!" I turned my head to look at her and I saw her eyes rolled in annoyance.

I laughed and seconds later, I told her about what happened during my working hours. Believe me, I was so calm and I got over it but Fia seemed to be angrier than I was.

"Tangina ha! Alam mo, inggit lang yung babaeng 'yon sa'yo kasi hindi niya makausap si Enzo. Makita ko lang na gawin niya ulit 'yon, humanda siya." Fia exclaimed.

I never thought Fia would get so angry about it. It was the first time I saw her other side and I couldn't help but laugh at her.

"Bakit parang ikaw pa yung mas galit?" I chuckled. I stared at her angry face as she slowly chuckled with me.

"Kaibigan kita, that's why." She took a glance at me, smiling then the car stopped as we were in front of my dorm.

We bid our goodbyes to each other and thanked her. Going inside my dorm, I took my keys from Tita Mercy and walked towards my room.

That evening, I didn't eat my dinner since I was still full and I didn't feel hungry at all so I just did my night routine and put on my satin nightgown.

While reading my notes on my bed, my phone suddenly beeped. I reached out to get it and surprisingly, Enzo's name appeared on my phone's screen as his message said,

"Thank you."

"No problem!"

I replied with a smile on my face.
