CHAPTER 32

CYNTHIA'S POV

Last night, I was so full and I also washed Enzo's jacket. I hated the fact I literally woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and spent my entire 20 minutes in there.

The next I woke up, I felt relieved but really hungry. I ate two cup noodles for breakfast and after I was done, I went straight into the bathroom to take a bath.

Although I still had a lot of time before going to school, I quite like to kill time staying in the bathroom.

Tunganga lang.

After I finished taking a bath, I started to do my morning routine and sort my things in my bag.

It was 7:10 AM when I was done so I jogged downstairs after locking the door in my room. I gave my room key to a girl since Tita Mercy wasn't awake at this hour or maybe doing something aside from staying in the lobby.

Heading to my classroom, a voice called my name from behind, I looked over my shoulder to see Sebastian, walking towards me with his usual bright smile.

"Good morning." He smiled down at me. I smiled back at him as we started to walk together.

As always, we talked about a lot of things despite the short time we had. About our day yesterday when he and his friends played basketball while raining. About me when I got hired in one of the famous cafés in town and such.

We bid our goodbyes to each other as we finally separated ways and attended our classes. I was 10 minutes early and when I entered the room, loud chattering and laughter welcomed me.

At Fia.

"Cyn!" She exclaimed, loud enough for other students to turn their heads towards the door where I entered in.

I shushed her, embarrassedly, and quickly sat down next to her.

"Ang ingay ingay mo!" I put my bag under my chair then a pair of arms wrapped around me, to the point I couldn't even breathe.

"Namiss kita!" She hugged me even tighter. I wanted to hug her back, I really do but instead, I patted her arms gently, telling her to let go.

She chuckled at me after she moved her hands away. We talked for a few minutes until the opened the door while three guys walked in.

Kevin was the first one, smiling at me and Fia, shyly. Eusaff was next, confident as ever and usually smiled and friends with everyone. Enzo, however, was the last one. Slightly snob, serious, and looked sick?

Fia secretly looked over her shoulder, she was looking at the three guys in the back of the room, sitting—let us say, she was looking at Enzo.

She slowly turned her head in my direction, looking at me. I knew what she meant by the look she sent to me. I shrugged my shoulders, sighing and said,

"Naulanan kami kagabi."

She widened her eyes at me. Looked so shocked. One of the reasons why I don't share much with her about what was going on between me and Enzo.

Laging iba ang iniisip.

"Wala kaming payong na dala eh. Tapos pinahiram niya yung jacket niya sa'kin para pangharang sa ulan. Siya naman, tumakbo nalang papunta sa sasakyan niya."

She nodded her head and showing me to go on with my story. Instead, I shrugged my shoulders and didn't continue.

"Yun lang?" She said, looking so disappointed.

"Yun lang."

"Weh?"

"Oo nga."

"Weh?"

"Yun lang at wala na."

"'Di ako naniniwala. Feel ko meron pa eh."

I sighed deeply. I avoided her gaze by looking at the board in front of the class and said,

"Oo na. Meron pa." My voice seemed to sound like a mumble.

"Sabi ko na eh! Tell me more. I'm listening." She smiled up at me as her chin was on her right palm while her elbow was on top of the armchair.

I shook my head, smiling lightly. I was about to tell her what happened next but suddenly, the door opened as Mr. Castro walked into the room.

She groaned silently in frustration then whispered to me.

"I-kwento mo ha?"

I nodded my head while I was looking at the teacher in front of us. Mr. Castro started to check the attendance and when he was done, he stood up and started the discussion.

The whole next few hours were exhausting! Really, really exhausting.

Every subject we had a quiz. Some were even long quizzes and surprised ones. Thankfully, I studied last night while I was eating the food that Enzo bought for me.

I was thinking about how would I make up for him. By the look of Enzo's sick face gave me an idea and I couldn't help but smile at that thought of him, looking at me with his annoyed face again.

So after our last subject of the afternoon, I went straight first into my dorm to take a shower and change my clothes. Afterwards, Fia and I went first to the convenience store.

Fia has always been a supportive friend to me. When I told her about my job in the café, she was so happy and even wanted to accompany me on my first day.

We had a quick snack before leaving the store. As always, Fia was talking to Eusaff through text, and according to her, they were in the café, hanging out.

A few hours later, we were at the café and walked straight into the second floor with a small paper bag in my grasp. I saw three guys, sitting and talking to each other in the corner of the large room.

We walked towards them as two pairs of eyes darted into our direction and with smiles on their faces.

"Ah! Cynthia and my babe, Fia." Eusaff cheered but not too loud. Kevin and him both laughed and Enzo, on the other hand, just took a sip on his drink.

I noticed how Fia rolled her eyes at Eusaff and he just sent her his bright and teasing smile. Kevin also sent me his small and sly smile while I shyly avoided his gaze.

Without wasting any second, I cleared my throat to get Enzo's attention but his eyes were too focused on his phone. Instead of saying anything, I gently shoved the small paper bag to him.

He turned to look at the paper bag next to him with his usual annoyed face then slowly, he looked up at me.

"What is this?" He asked, coldly but more like irritated.

I shrugged, putting it on his lap. "Please, tanggapin mo na. Hwag kana mag-inarte dyan." I smiled sweetly at him.

His face looked even more annoyed as I bid my goodbyes to them while their faces looked surprised.

I turned around, going downstairs as I was ready to start my work. Fia hurriedly followed me after she said goodbye to the three guys.

"Cynthia! Ang lakas mo talaga eh no?" She whispered while we were going downstairs.

When Fia was heading to the exit. I gave her a wink and a sweet smile as I started my first day.
