CHAPTER 24

CYNTHIA'S POV

"Cyn, sige na kasi! Pumayag kana!" Fia insisted while whining, shaking my arm. We were walking out of the campus. I was about to go back to my dorm but Fia wanted me to stay in her condo unit for a while.

I had to pack up my things and my laundry so I could wash them when I got home. I promised my mom I will be home this weekend and I knew she was expecting me to be there.

And since Sebastian also lives in the same town as me, he insisted that we could go home together every Friday and I agreed.

Para naman may kasama, 'diba?

I got a text from Seb that the last ride will be at 6 PM and we had to be at the terminal at least 15 minutes early. Yet, Fia was so stubborn and wanted me to have fun tonight.

"Kailangan ko umuwi. Nage-expect si mama na uuwi ako ngayon." I said while we were outside of the campus.

She was clinging on my arm like a little girl not letting me go. Her eyes so big while looking at me and she pouted.

"Fia!" I laughed at her and tried to get out from her arm then said,

"Hindi pwede na uuwi ako bukas. Tska miss ko na rin sila." I chuckled at her. She was still looking at me with her puppy-eyes and pouted lips.

"Sobrang stress natin the past few weeks, ayaw mo ba mag-relax?" She smiled sweetly and bat her eyelashes towards me.

"Gusto pero hindi yung type ng relax na gusto mo. 'Di ako mahilig." I bat my eyelashes at her then chuckled afterwards.

"Para nga kahit pa paano, may alam ka sa mga ganon." She laughed, lightly as she let go of my arm and added, "Oh, sige na. Baka mahuli kayo sa biyahe ni Sebby mo." She said with a teasing tone.

I rolled my eyes at her and said, "Bye! Love you. See you next week." I smiled. I started to walk towards my dorm as I waved my hand at her goodbye.

A few minutes later, a girl from the small lobby gave my keys then I went straight into my room. I started to pack up the things that I needed to bring home and when I was done, it was 5:30 and I suddenly got a message from Sebastian.

"Nandito na po ako sa labas."

"Sige. Palabas na ako."

I carried my small duffle bag and hung my sling bag over my shoulder as I walked out of my room, locking the door. I went straight downstairs and bid my goodbyes to Tita Mercy.

Walking out of the building, Sebastian hurriedly walked towards me and grabbed the bag from my grasp, gently.

"Ako na." He smiled shyly, not looking at me and I saw a slight shade of red on his cheeks.

"Hindi ako na. Kaya ko naman." I chuckled and held the bag tighter in my hand.

After a few minutes of arguing, he finally gave up and we managed to get a taxi going to the terminal. Minutes had passed by, we paid and got our tickets for the ride as we took our seats on the bus.

We sat next to each other and Sebastian was next to the window while our bags were in the overhead compartment.

As the bus started to leave the terminal, I automatically prayed and when I was done, I heard a male voice speak next to me and said,

"So, paano na yung activity na pag-uusapan niyo ng partner mo?" Seb asked while he put on his neck pillow.

"Napag-usapan naman na namin, so next time ulit." I chuckled as my eyes looked out of the window.

Yes, supposed to be Enzo and I would talk about the activity every weekend so we could finish it as early as possible. We haven't done a lot but maybe if we put our hundred percent focused on it then we could finish it before the deadline.

Matagal pa naman eh.

Enzo knew that I was going home today. Well, I told him even though he didn't ask.

But then after I told him, he looked uncomfortable as if he wanted to say something but he stayed quiet and nodded at me, instead.

Grabe. Ang sarap talaga kausap nung tao. Damang-dama ko.

"Hindi kana ba niya pinaghihintay ng matagal?" Seb chuckled lightly and raised his arm to adjust the air conditioner above his head.

"Hindi naman na. Last time, on time siya, nakakagulat nga eh." I smiled at the thought as I started to scroll through my phone to select a good song to hear.

He nodded at me and said, "Mabait naman ba siya sa'yo?" He asked again. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed the seriousness on his face and I glanced at him.

"Oo naman." I smiled again and I put my earphones on. "Matulog na muna ako." I chuckled, shyly then I closed my eyes listening to the song 13 by LANY.

The whole ride took us 3 hours. During the ride, I suddenly felt something soft around my neck and as I rested my head against it, I felt even more comfortable sleeping.

A few hours later, a manly voice whispered in my ear softly, waking me up. I sighed and opened my eyes slowly as I looked out the window, night time.

"Anong oras na?" I whispered and rubbed my eyes, gently.

"Almost 9 na. Nandito na tayo." Seb exclaimed. He stared at me and I didn't notice that my head was already rested on his shoulder. I sat up properly and yawned.

"Ako na bahala sa bag natin, hintayin mo nalang ako sa labas." He said and suddenly, he handed me his hoodie and said,

"Gamitin mo muna 'to. Baka malamig." He smiled at me slightly. I took it from his hand and just wrapped it around me.

"Salamat." I said, smiling at him then I walked out of the bus. I got us a ride and later on, Seb put the bags in the tricycle and drove off to my house first.

Once we were at the front gate of my house, Seb put down my bag on the ground. He had been so generous ever since and I couldn't help but admire my childhood best friend.

"Salamat ulit, Sebby." I smiled up at him. I carried my bag and was about to turn around when Sebastian wrapped his arm around me for a hug. I stayed still, too shocked from what he did and said,

"I know I had to stop myself from doing this pero namiss lang talaga kita, Cyn." He whispered. I laughed as I patted his back, lightly then I pulled away.

"Oo na, Seb!" I shook my head at him. I wasn't certain from what I saw in his eyes but was it sadness?

"Hindi mo ba ako namiss?" He asked while he stared at him, waiting for my answer.

I laughed at him and punched him on the shoulder, playfully. Luckily, the front gate wasn't locked yet so I opened it and said,

"Thank you, Sebby. See you next time." I smiled. He smiled back at me and nodded. Once I was inside, I locked the gate as the tricycle drove off then suddenly my mom's happy voice filled my ears.

"Ate! Nandito kana!" My mom wrapped her arms around me tightly and I hugged her back tighter.

Sila talaga ang namiss ko.
