CHAPTER 27

CYNTHIA'S POV

"Sabihin mo kay mama bili siya ng miryenda mo. Dalawang box ng pizza." I told my little brother Cayenne when he was playing on the floor with his toy cars.

Some kids nowadays were too focused on gadgets and for me, it was just sad to see them staring directly on the screen and wouldn't be able to play outside of the house and socialize with other kids.

I was grateful when Cayenne wasn't fond of gadgets like the others. Though he still used it to play different and educational games and my parents limit him to use it.

"Miryenda ko lang, ate? Two boxes of pizza?" He asked while looking at me with his cute small black colored eyes.

"I mean," I hesitated for a second then added, "Miryenda natin. Syempre mabubusog kana agad kung ikaw lang kakain ng dalawang box of pizza."

"Eh sabi mo 'miryenda mo', ate." He continued to play with his toy cars. I, on the other hand, sighed deeply at him.

If I were the one to asked my mom to buy food, she started to rap faster than Eminem but if my little brother asked,

Matic nagbibigay.

My dad, however, doesn't rap but he says, "Maraming ulam sa karinderya, maghahanap ka pa ng iba?"

So, I just kept my mouth shut and ordered Cayenne to tell my parents to buy him food so I could have a little share.

"Basta, sabihin mo kay mama, 'Ma, gusto ko pizza, dalawang box. Yung tig-95.' Tas mamayang gabi laro ulit tayo ng Scrabble." I whispered to him then waggled my eyebrows.

He stood up from the floor and smiled brightly, "Okay. Promise ate ha?"

"Oo naman. Dalawang box ha?" I shouted when he walked downstairs. I was laying in my bed, having a rest from a long day working in our Carinderia. It was still open until 6 PM so my mom and her helper were in there.

I waited for my little brother to come back but I got a text message from my mom and she said,

"K. Pabili ako kay Maris." I chuckled then I texted her back.

"Hehe. Love you, ma."

"K. Luv you 2."

I heard footsteps coming towards my room then Cayenne walked in with a satisfied smile over his face.

"Pabili raw siya kay Ate Maris, ate."

Ate Maris was our helper in our business. She has been working in our Carinderia for three years now and she was so kind, honest, and clean.

Unlike those other people that my mom hired, they were mean as if they owned the business, dishonest and unhygienic.

My mom didn't know at first but when I told her she needed to set two hidden cameras in our business, that was when we caught and she fired them.

Cayenne was playing his toys on the floor while I was comfortably playing a game on my phone then suddenly, my mom texted me again saying that my two friends were here to visit me.

I jumped off from my bed, stretching my body and said, "Dito ka lang po ha? Baba lang ako saglit."

"Okay, ate." Cayenne smiled up at me and I walked downstairs to see my two friends.

Once when I was in the living room, huge smiles and opened arms welcomed me as they wrapped their arms around me, tightly.

"Hindi ka nagsabi nandito kana!"
