CHAPTER 2
We have finally reached our destination and Eusaff has already parked his car. We got out of his car and locked it.
We followed some other students who seemed to be new in the university, as well. A few minutes of walking, we managed to find the section and course we belonged to.
My friends and I fell in line while a woman at the stage orienting us about the rules and regulations of the school.
Time passed by, they were still talking about the same topic for an hour straight.
Damnit! Matagal pa 'to.
A few hours later, the woman at the stage told us we will have a campus tour. We started to move around and followed the person who was guiding us along the way.
As we were walking, I noticed how some areas of the school looked historical and unique. A few minutes of the campus tour, I was starting to admire the environment and ambiance of the school then suddenly, a voice whispered in my ear.
"Man, ang ganda no?" Eusaff asked, smiling at me like an idiot.
"Yeah. The environment here seems nice." I said as I admire the surroundings.
"Hindi about sa school sinasabi niya." Kevin told me as he was shaking his head, smiling.
"Look at that chic over there." He said, laughing secretly and pointing at the girl in the crowd. I put his hand down to avoid any stares from other students around us.
"Hwag mo naman ituro. Pahalata ka eh." I told him and looked at the girl he was pointing at and she looked nice in her casual dress and sandals.
Ang clear ng eyesight kapag sa ganitong bagay.
"Tititigan mo nalang ba or what?" I asked him, teasingly. He shook his head and smiled. I wasn't expecting his answer but I could not agree more when he said,
"Nagagandahan lang ako but bro, we're here to study not to find a lover, diba Kevin?" He put his arm around Kevin's shoulders as he was writing down the names of the building we passed by.
"Yes. Study first talaga." He chuckled and Eusaff nodded, agreeing with Kevin and said,
"Besides, you both know kung gaano ka-gusto ni mom na maging better man na ako since dad died and I'm doing this for her." He smiled at us.
That time, despite the smile he showed to us, I could still see the sadness in his eyes when he talked about his dad and the sincerity on his voice that he wanted to be a better man for his mom.
And so, just to lighten up the mood, I playfully ruffled my two best friends' hair, smiling at them.
The campus tour has ended and we made our way to the canteen to have a break. We started eating as we finally took our seats and enjoyed our food.
Eusaff and Kevin were talking about these new games that Kevin discovered and I, on the other hand, was too occupied looking around and observing until I saw this girl ordering at the counter.
She sat down and ate her snack alone. I looked at her then darted my eyes at the counter area, deciding to order another snack again.
I was too busy looking at the displayed food and the girl then suddenly, I felt a smack on my shoulder and Eusaff said,
"Kanina ka pa namin kinakausap, tatanungin ka sana namin kung alam mo ba yung mga new games sa ps4 but you're too freaking focused sa dalawang babae!"
"Huh? What do you mean dalawang babae?" I asked. I'm just looking at the girl who is sitting alone.
"Sino ba gusto mo dyan, Enzo? Yung loner or yung nagbebenta?" Kevin asked, teasingly. None of the above.
"Yung pagkain ang gusto ko." I said and turned to face them, smirking a bit.
They laughed and continued eating their snacks. I stood up from my seat and they both looked up at me.
"Bibili lang ako. May gusto kayo?" I asked them. They both shook their heads and I turned around, walked towards the counter.
As I reached the counter, I bought myself a bottle of water. I was about to go back to my friends but then I saw the girl looks like she was crying from how she wiped off her eyes using the back of her hand.
So, I grabbed some paper towels from the counter and walked towards then offered it to her and said,
"Here. Mukhang umiiyak ka so maybe you need some." She looked up at me, confusedly and said,
"Umiiyak? Napuwing lang ako pero thanks." She said and smiling at me awkwardly.
