CHAPTER 6

CYNTHIA'S POV

Okay, napahaba ako ng tulog.

When I was running as fast as I can going to our classroom, I repeatedly whispered to myself.

Sana wala pang teacher. Sana wala pang teacher.

A few seconds of running, I had found the classroom that I was going to enter, and hurriedly opened the door.

Luckily, I saw there was no teacher inside the room yet. All I saw inside the coom were students like me who were chattering with their seatmates.

Thanks, G!

I found a vacant seat at the side of the room and sat there. I was too relieved and didn't even notice that there was someone else sitting beside it.

"Hi. Okay ka lang?" A girl asked me with a slight smile on her face while she was looking at me.

I could tell the way she looked at me that she was too entertained from what she was seeing but I had no idea what it was.

"Oo. Thanks." I told her while I smiled at her, shyly.

"May naka-upo ba dito?" I asked. It was rude to just sit when the chair has reserved for someone else, right?

"Wala." She said, shooking her head while smiling at me. "Fia nga pala." She introduced herself while her eyes studying me and said,

"Girl, what happened to you? Yung buhok mo..." She said as she pointed my hair with her index finger. "Ang gulo!" She laughed slightly at me.

"Cynthia." I said. Trying to fix my hair as some of it was in different directions. I did fix my hair at my dorm but every time I arrived at school, it got messy.

"Tumatakbo ako kanina. Akala ko kasi late na ako." I laughed, shyly.

I was done with my hair as I heard her said,

"Swerto mo wala pang teacher. Malas mo kapag meron and pinalabas ka pa." She said, shrugging.

Indeed, I was lucky today.

I sighed in relief. I noticed she was too focused on her phone and doesn't talk to anyone so I decided to ask her.

"Wala ka bang kakilala dito? Lahat sila nakikipag-usap sa katabi pero ikaw..." I waited for her to answer and saw the corner of her lips lifted a bit and raised her face from her phone to look at me.

"Ikaw, kakilala kita at kinakausap rin." She said, smirking at me. Seryoso ba siya?

I laughed slightly at her, awkwardly said,

"Hindi ganon. I mean..." I looked at the person on her left side and she did too.

I noticed that the person was too focused talking to her seatmate like they have not seen each other for a long time. I looked at her and smiled, shyly.

"Alam mo na ha?" she said, shooking her head. The smile on her face is not leaving.

We talked for a few minutes about each other's life. As minutes passed by, I felt comfortable talking to Fia like we've been friends for a long time.

The door of our classroom opened as our eyes darted to whoever just entered and the room became silent. A guy came in with a serious and little confused look on his face.

He was holding some papers and put them on top of the teacher's table.

This might be our teacher.

"Sorry. I am late. There were some complications regarding the schedule but it has been settled now. Medyo nawala pa ako." He chuckled, wiping off the sweat on his forehead with his handkerchief.

We laughed slightly and waited for him to continue.

Yep, teacher talaga namin.

"Since we don't know each other. Let's start introducing ourselves. Ako na mauna. I am Mr. Rene Jay Castro but you can call me Sir RJ..." he continued to talk about himself, his subject, and such.

Sir RJ seems nice and a funny person. He said a lot of things about the subject he was going to teach us which is Purposive Communication or in short English subject.

He also told us how he used to hate English subject when he was a kid because of how he had some hard time to pronounce some difficult words. But from what I can see. He nailed it!

We started to introduce ourselves one by one until there was only one person who has not yet done.

Eusaff... Kevin Steve.

Those two seemed familiar when I saw them in front and I felt like I have seen those guys somewhere before. My curiosity turned into shock as my mouth left open slightly while I was staring at the guy in front of the class.

"Enzo Angeles Villanueva. 20 years old..." He continued to introduce himself, drily. I, on the other hand, have been relaxed a little bit after that guy Enzo finished introducing himself.

I couldn't believe he was my classmate and ever since the incident in the canteen, I've been thinking of that guy. Not in the other way around but I was just grateful to what he did.

Maybe for some, it was just a small effort but for me, it wasn't.

"Ba't parang gulat na gulat ka?" Fia asked beside me. I was still looking at the teacher's table in front. As I heard her voice, I cleared my throat and looked at her.

"Gulat?" I asked her back.

"Sa Enzo na 'yon. You seem fine naman sa ibang nagpakilala pero nag-iba na mukha mo nung siya na nasa harapan." She said, smirking at me a bit. Oh God! That smirk.

I laughed at her, slightly and shook my head. "Totoo? 'Di ko alam yan ha."

"Duh! Paano mo malalaman e hindi mo naman nakita sarili mo kanina."

I rolled my eyes at her and chuckled.

"Ano 'yon? Na-love at first sight ka?" She said teasingly and playfully slapped her shoulder.

Of course not. Who the heck believed in love at first sight? I don't think it's even real.

All I need to focus on now was my studies. Not this one classmate who I first met at the canteen or whoever.
