I was walking towards the kitchen since I wanted to see how my mother was going and to sneak a snack for Emil as a surprise gift.
'That prince sure has got me doing things I would never dare to dream of before we became close.'
As I turned the corner I nearly rang into the King.
"Sorry your highness. I did not see you were there."
"It's quite alright dear."
"Hope you have a wonderful day sire." I told giving a quick bow before I began to make my way to the kitchen again only for his voice to speak once again.
"Anastasia I must speak with you. If you will be so kind, please follow me." The king told making me turn around and rush to follow after him.
"Am I in trouble for what happened today? To be completely honest your majesty, it is difficult sometimes to keep track of your son, especially when he doesn't want to do his duties."
"That is not what I wanted to talk about. I understand you do well with protecting him with challenges that sometimes arise from it. Your father did say you would do well at handling him better then any other guard. And you've done quite well."
"Thank you, your majesty. It was more of a challenge at the start but I think being his guard since we were 7 has helped a lot making it easier. But what was it that you wanted to talk about?"
"Maxemil has given me what he wants for his Bakshal wish. Which is go to America for a year and make a friend."
"Yes, I have heard of that being his wish. But what does that have to do with me?"
"Well I'll be sending Joosep to watch over him while he is there, but there is some downfall for that. He will be attending public school and I do not completely trust that bumbling idiot."
"Knowing him, he will swallow an egg while it's still in the shell. Which is very worrisome."
"Yes, which is why I would like to send you with him."
"Would I be playing his sister?"
"No. You will just be his friend and you two will be living together, which will help you protect him more."
"Thank you for trusting me with this, your majesty."
"You should hurry up and pack as many of your casual clothes, since you will be leaving in a few days and I know my son will want to bring everything."
"Yes your majesty." I told giving a quick bow before rushing off to my quarters to start getting ready.
'Guess I now know what I'm doing for the year.'
"Why does she get to go to America for a year?"
"Because my duties include prince Maxemil, and his wish was to go there for a year and make a best friend. As he says the Daryl to his Stankman. The king requested I go with him since Joosep won't always be able to protect him." I explained as I packed my luggage for the year.
"So unfair."
"Tatiana, it's what the king wants. Besides you have your own duties with training and helping take care of some other duties Anastasia does while she is gone." My father told
"Besides, life isn't always fair to one another. For all we know she could end up camping with a lot of snakes or running in barbecue sauce." My mother added.
"Also you could stay in my room for the year since it's closer to most things." I added while I made sure I had what I needed.
"Deal!"
"Does that mean I will most likely be taking over for Joosep?"
"No, you'll still be doing your duties as well as helping the king more, Alexander."
"Yes father."
'This is not how I though my year would go.'
There was a knock at the door making my mother go over and open it to show Joosep.
"Hello!"
"Joosep, what a pleasant surprise. Come in." She told
"Thank you." He told as he walked in before continuing to speak. "I've been told that Anastasia will be joining me on protecting the kings son. But we've also been told to have him not know of my presence."
"Why?"
"Apart of him being ordinary for a year."
"Right."
"Joosep, I do hope you will also protect my daughter while you are there."
"Of course Maxwell. I won't let anything bad happen to the Prince or to my cousin which is your daughter, cousin." Joosep told making my father let out a sigh and hold his face.
"I am trusting you with this Joosep. They are to both be watched over by you."
"Understand completely."
"Joosep you are very amusing to watch." Tatiana told making his smile.
"Why thank you Tatiana."
"No problem."
'This will be interesting to see the outcome of this whole situation.'
I soon finished up with my packing and I headed to Emil's room to see it was a complete mess.
"Prince Maxemil are you in here?" I asked as I walked in making his head pop out of his closet.
"Anna! I've done my own packing, and I nearly have everything I need."
"We are definitely going over everything you want to bring since we need to keep a low profile."
"But you've told me it's better to be prepared then under prepared."
"That was for the badger hunt for starters Maxemil...."
"Emil." He told cutting in.
"Emil. But this is a year long trip to America, not everything is needed. And we can always go and buy what ever you may need."
"When you are right you are right. What would I ever do without you?" He asked before heading over to his bed which had all his luggage set out.
"The universe will only know the answer to that Emil. Now let us pack for your trip."
"Have you already packed your things? I do not want you to be in a rush."
"Yes Emil I have. I'm assuming your father has informed you of me coming along." I stated as I began to clean up his room.
"Informed me? Why would he have informed me, when you were always coming along?"
'Oh he thought I was always coming along.'
"Because I was not joining you on your adventure till your father the King, requested that I join you."
"Good thing that happened. I do not think I could go a year without any of your guidance, Anna."
"And yet I am meant to only be your personal guard, but I'm here picking up your no longer clean clothes."
"I have not worn them yet."
"Emil you threw them onto the floor. I can not in good faith let you wear these after doing that, especially since I'm sure you stepped on many of them."
'What a strange boy he is.'
