(Anna p.o.v)

(The dress Anna will be wearing)

Sydney ended up coming over to help the two of us get ready, and all it reminded me was of back home when we had formal functions. Sydney was actually brushing my hair at the little vanity set the room had, due to her always being curious about how my hair feels like and wanting to brush it. I just assume it's due to her being an only child so she doesn't get to play with other peoples hair often.
"So I'm thinking, either partly up and partly down, or just up with some hairs framing your face." She told. "I can't decide."
"I usually have my hair partly up or just all down when I go to special events with Emil and our families."
"There's special events for moose farmers?" She asked.
"Well there is the moose rating contest, which is an important event in Buronia."
"How do you rate a moose?"
"Wet nose and a firm rump."
"Ok then. So you and Emil get dressed up every once in awhile?" She asked as she began to put my hair up.
"Every now and then."
"That's cute. You two are like each others dates."
"I mean, if it's one that includes dancing he always pulls me into it and we dance together."
"I love the friendship you two have. It's quite sweet."
"Do not get me wrong, there are times where I want to pull my hair out from frustration that he gives me. But I would not want to change us being joined at the hip, because I love my life and he makes said life fun."
"I get that. Tanner makes things fun. I get to experience more childhood things ever since we began to date. Except you and Emil aren't dating, despite everyone thinking so due to how close you are and the fact he drags you around by holding hands."
"He is faster then me, and I tell him off when he runs off. Besides, the two of us could never date." I explained.
"Cause you don't want to lose your friendship?"
"Back home it's slightly different. We could be seen on two different levels, and so it would never happen. So why bother with the idea when it is, as you say 'no way, Jose'."
"Man, I didn't know moose farming could ever be like that."
"Yes. Moose farming is quite the challenge."
'I was so close to revealing our secret. Thankfully she didn't catch on.'
"So can I ask about the rings?" She asked making me look at my left hand to look at the rings I had.
"This one is the ring Emil got me when I turned 10. He found a gemstone and had someone help make it into a ring for me. He was so excited to give it to me, he kept dropping hints and kept going to tell me before stopping and telling himself off for nearly ruining the surprise. And then this one is my family crest. Ages ago my family is descendants of the MacLeod clan, from Scotland. Who is said that their flag is in fact a fairy flag. So each child of the descendent receives the ring on their 13th. But my father gave me mine before I came here with Emil so I had it to help me if I ever needed to remind myself of where I come from and who my family is."
"That's sweet. So why a fairy flag?"
"It's said to have magical properties and has mysterious origins. It also says that it was originated as a gift from the fairies to an infant child of my ancestors, due to the father having married a fairy but she had to return to her land."
"That's sweet."
"Me and my siblings think as well as our mother that he just murdered him and said that to cover it up."
"That's not so sweet."
"No not really. But Emil loves hearing me tell it to him."
"And we are back to sweet." She told making us laugh.
'Emil is actually pretty great.'
"And we are done." She told making me look into the mirror and be surprised at what she had done.

(Hair style)

"Wow."
"Is that a good wow, or a bad wow? It's hard to tell what you are feeling sometimes due to you not showing emotions a lot."
"It's a good wow. A fantastic wow even." I told before turning to her and giving her a smile. "Thank you Syd."
As soon as I said that her eyes began to beam and she got excited.
"You gave me a nickname."
"I did. I do see you as a good friend."
"Ann!" She exclaimed before wrapping her arms around me in a hug.
"Oh ok then. Was not expecting a hug." I stated as I wrapped my arms around her and she chuckled.
"I see you as a good friend as well."
'Is this what's it like being friends with a female? Because if so, I am glad I came to America with Emil.'

(Emil p.o.v)

~at the same time as the other conversation~

"So you two go to a lot of these?" Teddy asked as I tried to do my tie.
"Well yes. Anna has to go where I go unless she has other duties to attend to at home. But even then if I am able to I tag along."
'How does Anna do this so well?'
"You know people at school think you two are dating." He told making me give him a confused look.
"Really?!"
"Yes. Why do you actually have a crush on Anna?"
"No. We've grown up together, and besides Anna could never have romantic feelings for me. So why bother with the whole idea of the two of us dating, when it would never happen."
"I guess. But you never know what might happen, for the future is a mystery." He told before looking towards me. "Your tie is all wrong."
"I know." I told with a groan. "Anna usually helps me with them."
"She helps you with your ties?"
"Well yes. Over the years of us knowing one another, she's helped me a lot. The amount of times I lose my crown and Anna finds it in seconds, she is truly wonderful."
"Dude, you sound like you have a crush on Ann."
"I don't." I told finally giving up on trying and began to head towards the door.
"Where are you going?"
"To get Anna's help." I told before leaving.
I made my way up to her room and just fiddled with the ends of the ties.
"Anna!"
"In here!" She told causing me to open the door and head in.
"I need help with my tie again." I told as I looked at the ground to make sure I didn't trip on the few steps.
I looked up and instantly fell silent when I saw how Anna looked.
'She's never had her hair up like this.'
"Emil? You ok?"
"Wow."
"Wow?" She asked snapping me out of it a bit.
"You look amazing, truely beautiful." I told making her smile.
"Thanks Emil. You look handsome."
"I like how your hair is up. You should do it more."
"Maybe. It was Sydney's choice."
"It was a good choice."
"Now! You have a tie to be tied." She told walking over and I gave her my tie as she came closer. "Collar."
I flipped my collar and she began to get to work tying my tie and Sydney was just smiling at us.
"How often does this happen?"
"Very often." We both told before she finished it and put my collar back down before smoothing everything.
"And done."
"Thank you Anna."
"It's my job." She told with a shrug.
Before I could say anything Sydney came over and grabbed ahold of my hand to drag us down stairs to meet up with Teddy. Of course I quickly grabbed ahold of Anna's hand so we were by each other's side.
"That reminds me. Sydney you look lovely." I told making her chuckle.
"Thanks Emil. You look lovely as well."
Once we reached the bowling alley where Teddy was wait Sydney let go of my hand and he did his complements, but I didn't have the heart to let go of Anna's hand.
"Aw my baby's are all grown up!" Regina exclaimed as she pulled us all into a hug minus Sydney.
"I wasn't expecting this." Anna admitted.
"Mum, we aren't that grown up." Teddy stated.
"Your grown enough. Please stop so I can keep you kids at this age and height."
"I'm positive that is physically impossible." I told making Anna chuckle at my response.
"Well we should head off so we can get there on time." Sydney told which helped us get out of her grip.
"Oh alright. But first I need pictures of this." She told as she pulled the camera she had out.
We all grouped up together and I wrapped my arm around Anna as we posed, and she wrapped her arm around my back.
'Tonight will definitely be one I'll never forget.'
