Today was interesting to say the least. We walked into the bowling alley and I was slightly annoyed the I somehow got leaves and what not in my hair while Emil looked like he did nothing at all.
"What a fantastic day. Right Teddy?" Emil exclaimed.
"Speak for yourself." He told as he looked like he had been run over by a car which I still wasn't sure how that happened.
"How was it that we ended up looking like a mess yet you don't?" I questioned making him give a shrug.
"You are the only one that would ever volunteer to clean the stretch of highway between the dump and the other dump." Teddy stated
"What about all those nice gentleman who were helping us?" Emil asked
"They have to do that. They were prisoners!"
"Ok but even I have to agree. They were quite lovely."
"Really? Even Bone-saw?" Emil asked
"Yes!" Teddy exclaimed. "Look Emil, I know you are excited to be here, but you've gotta stop signing us up for every horrible activity on the school bulletin board."
"Not every activity is horrible on the school bulletin board." I added
"I just wanted us to bond. Like Bone-saw and Stabby Mike." He told
"They were so nice to talk to."
"Oh no. Royal babysitter coming in." Emil told making me turn around and seeing Joosep coming towards us.
'Let's see what my cousin has to say.'
"Excuse me, my fellow bowling alley patrons. I couldn't help but notice you're dressed as a common traffic cone."
"Joosep what are you doing?" Emil asked in a hush tone.
"Did you forget your Highness, that your father, the king and my cousin, the head of the Royal guards sent me to protect you and Anastasia? Oh no...have you been hit in the head by an errant cola bottle?!" He said before he grabbed Emils face and began to test if he had a concussion.
"Would you stop? Stop it!" Emil said getting out of his grip and hid behind me to get out of reach.
"Joosep I need you to stop saying that or more people will find out and stop acting so strange you will draw attention on yourself."
"Anna is right. You look suspicious." Emil said
"You mean suspiciously American?"
"Nope." Teddy said
"Joosep, if you are concerned about my safety as well as Anna's, maybe you should be....investigating all these shady characters hanging around a bowling alley in the middle of the day." Emil said taking a peak from behind me.
"He is right. This is very suspicious behaviour." I added.
"Ah. That's a brilliant observation your Highness. I shall get to work straight away creating background checks on everyone here. Starting with that shady character right there." He said pointing at a child.
"Uh... sure she is Joosep." I told knowing where this was heading.
"Excuse me, you there. Who do you work for?" He said as he began to chase after the girl and her mother around the bowling alley.
I turned to Emil with wide eyes and he looked at me with the same look.
"My cousin is definitely going to get arrested and our fathers surely will be extremely pissed."
"Yes I do agree. Hopefully he does not get arrested."
"Wait. He is your cousin?" Teddy asked as he pointed towards the direction Joosep went off.
"Surprisingly yes. He is actually my second cousin once removed. My fathers uncle is Joosep's father."
"I was just as surprised when I learnt they were related." Emil added before Regina walked up to us.
"Hey, who was that guy you were talking to? He has been here everyday this week, but hasn't bowled a frame." She asked
"He was just...." Emil began but I quickly interrupted him.
"Nachos. He was just telling us how much he likes the nachos here." I said with a straight face and gave Emil the signalled we agreed on the night before we left for America so we knew when the other needed to add onto a lie or what not.
"Yes that is exactly what he was talking about with us." Emil added as we gave a secret fist bump behind us.
'I'm glad I know him.
"Huh....he's looking at me right now." She told looking at him making us follow where she was looking to see Joosep was spying on us poorly.
'Wow. How he hid so well before Emil discovered him, I will never know.'
She gave him a wave, making him hide behind the top Lady Bowler magazine he was pretending to read.
"Maybe he lied about liking the nachos. He could obviously be into something else here." I said hoping she would play into it.
"Regina's still got it. Am I right?"
"Mum, ew." Teddy said giving her a disgusted look.
"Oh before I forget. Here are your permission slips for the camping trip this weekend." She said handing us a piece of paper.
"Yes!" Emil exclaimed becoming jumpy.
"I was wondering if we were going to go to this or not." I added
"Camping?" Teddy asked since obviously he had no idea this was happening.
"I signed us up for an overnight stay at Snake Bite Ridge." Emil said not being able to contain his excitement.
"I've actually missed camping a lot. So this will be a good trip." I stated since Teddy was still not ok with this.
"Why would anyone want to go to a place called Snake Bite Ridge? Snakes...Bites...Ridges?All bad!" Teddy screamed.
"Come on Teddy. It'll be good for you, get you out of your comfort zone." Regina said
"I don't wanna leave my comfort zone. Comfort...Zone! All good! Besides, I've already got a whole weekend full of fun ahead of me. I'm gonna test my robot on some stairs!" He told excitedly jumping a little.
"Wow, that sounds thrilling Teddy." I sarcastically told.
"Teddy, even the robot doesn't think that sounds like fun." Regina said
"Look mum. The last thing I want to do is sit around a campfire singing stupid camp songs, and there is no way you can make me."
"She is definitely going to make you go." I stated.
"Anna! We can start preparing for the trip."
"Yes we certainly can." I told before he began to pull me for us to do just that.
'I truely enjoy this job.... unless he is being a royal pain in my ass.'
