He said No!

I was walking with Teddy due to needing to make sure he got to the exact spot Emil needed. Which surprisingly was much easier then I thought it would have gone.
'I thought this was going to a lot of work. So glad I was wrong in this.'
As we made our way to the stairs, Emil popped up from around the corner.
"Hello, Teddy and Anna." He exclaimed making us scream.
"I hate when you scare me."
"Sorry."
"What are you doing?" Teddy asked as we began to make our way down the rest of the stairs.
"Oh, nothing. Just casually hiding in the hall, feeling like today could be the day that changes our lives forever."
"Ah yes, because that does not sound suspicious in anyway." I told with a small smile but it seemed Teddy did not hear what I had said.
"Oh I get it. You're excited about our date with some sassy sea cows." Teddy told which made Emil give a confused look.
"I do not know who we are going out with, but I am sure they do not want to be called that." He told as he placed his arm over my shoulders which was a regular occurrence for everyone to see.
"It does seem awfully rude to call someone a 'sassy sea cow'. Also I was not aware you two were going on a date, I have no way of keeping an eye out for Emil if I can not accompany him in this." I stated.
"I'm talking about the new season of Manatee Manor, the hottest nature-reality show ever. One swamp. Five manatees. All drama."
"Ok, I can accompany you on this then."
"Sounds fun, but first...." Emil began before Teddy cut him off.
"We can binge the whole thing this weekend if we jack ourselves up on some Spuz cola and pee in the empty cans." He told making me scrunch my face up.
"Wonderful, assuming we do not mix up the cans." Emil told making me have an ill look on my face.
"I do not like that thought. And please just go to the bathroom, I will be in there and we don't need anything close to being a repeat of the Toga incident." I stated.
"She's got a point on that." Emil told pointing to me,
Music began to play making us look over to the canteen to see people dressed as robots coming out of the room.
"Teddy, look! Robots! Are those not your favourite?" He asked as he separated himself from us, making me stand next to Teddy.
I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and hit record, as that was what I was instructed to do.
"Emil, what are you doing?"
"Yes Emil. What ever are you doing?" I asked making Teddy look towards me.
"You know don't you?"
"Yes."
"I am just as confused as you are. Guys, what the heck is all this...." he cut himself off as he joined in.
He began to dance with them and during it was handed a microphone which had Teddy go wide eye and my smile go bigger.
"No no no!"
"My name is Emil and I am here to say. That ever since I arrived in the USA. I only dreamed that there might come a day where I could be Best friends with Ted...day!"
They finished the dance and Emil grabbed the bracelet from his pocket as he went down on one knee and presented it to Teddy.
"So what do you say, buddy? Will you accept this bro-celet and be my official BFF?" He asked with hope in his eyes.
All the students began to laugh along with a teacher which made Teddy run away from us. I stopped recording and put my phone back in my pocket as I saw the heartbroken look on Emils face. Larry the llama came dancing out and pulled the rope that revealed the 'he said yes' sign before he continued to dance.
"I said to wait for my cue, Larry!" Emil shouted making him stop dancing and walk off with his head down.
Everyone went back to their own things and I could tell Emil was really upset.
"Do you need a hug?" I asked making him nod before wrapping his arms around me and I rubbed his back. "There there. I am sure we will fix this somehow and someway."
"Your so good to me." He told as he rested his head in the crook of my neck.
"Yes well, I do care for you. And it is technically my job so here we are." I quietly told making him chuckle a little.
"Thank you."
"No problem Emil."

After the school day was finished we headed back to the bowling alley without Teddy. Once we arrived home, we relaxed on the couch since Emil wanted to call his father for some insight, and knowing our luck my father would also be there. I relaxed my legs on his lap so it was easier to fit the two of us on the screen, while we talked to our fathers.

"I am telling you, father, it was awful."
"I do not understand. Surely Larry the Llama knew when to wait for his cue!"
"Practice should have been key for hun to understand when to go and when not to go." My father added also annoyed that Larry the Llama didn't wait for his cue.
"We went over it several times! The last real source of my frustration is not with Larry. It is with Teddy."
"It honestly did not go well. There was running away and laughter from other students and also teachers, which I feel should not be appropriate."
"I feel the same way Anastasia."
"Yes well, I believe I can help you there. You see, the secret to a successful friendship is comm....."

His father was cut off by the screen freezing from what I could tell without being seen.

"Hello! Father?"
"Son?"
"What is the secret?"

The connection goes out as the tablet releases a dial tone to signal that.
"Oh father, you are the richest man in the North Sea. Why do you insist on using the free wi-fi from the village Starbucks?" Emil asked himself.
"Because your father can be a bit of a cheapskate when he so chooses." I stated.
"He could just own the internet."
"Anything your father does is confusing Emil. Honestly some things surprise me, especially since my father should advise him not to do said things."
"Maybe he does, but my father just pulls a me."
"That would make so much sense." I told before seeing him still upset so I opened my arms for him. "Need another hug?"
He gave me a smile before moving so he rested on top of me as he began to hug me back. I began to play with his hair to help cheer him up which I could tell it was slowly working.
"Are you feeling better?"
"Much."
"Yeah well it's my job to make you feel better."
"How do you do it?" He asked making me pull a confused look.
"Do what?"
"Not get effected by normal things. I'm upset because Teddy will not be my bff, but you don't get effected by them."
"Probably because you were my first friend. So, I really do not need anyone else in my life but you."
"But what about when you want to start dating?" He asked pulling away so we could face one another better.
"I don't know actually. I never thought about romance before. Though, Sydney did ask me about it when we were getting ready for Fillmore."
"She did?"
"Well it was during the whole people at school think we are dating. She asked about the thought of us dating."
"What did you say?"
"We are on two completely different levels, so why imagine what that is like. Besides, we've been over this. We don't see one another like that due to how long we have known one another." I told making him nod in understanding.
"Of course. No reason to."
"Exactly."
"Not that dating you would be terrible, it would probably be amazing and always fun because you are an amazing and fun girl to be around." He told.
"And the same would be for you, you are funny and there is never a dull moment when you are around. Anyone would be lucky to date you."
"As how anyone would be lucky to date you." He told making us fall into a somewhat awkward silence as we tried to work out how to move away from this situation.
"Should we talk to Teddy about what happened today?" I asked.
"Yes let's go do that." He told making us both rush up.
"After you Emil."
"Thank you Anna." He told as we quickly rushed away from what we got ourselves in, since we can pretend it never happened.
