||The Letter||

Another boring class went by, but again you had free time before next period. Raven, Aija, and Jayden got a table together and saved two seats for you and Jake. As you packed your bag to go sit at the table you look over to see Jake, and it looked like he was writing something. You wanted to see what it was, you were thinking it was homework for the class and since you remember finishing it yesterday you could give him the answers. So you walked up to him and asked, "Hey Jake! Is that the homework?" He quickly flipped the paper over and turned to you surprised, "Oh uh yea, it's homework" You were confused on why he hid it, but continued, "Oh- well if it's for this class I can give you the answers for it since I completed it yesterday" "No it's fine, i'm smart enough to do it myself" he sarcastically replied. "Not so sure about that but uh," you laughed looking over to your friends table as they signaled you to come over, "Oh yea do you wanna come sit at the table with us?" You saw him look to the table, then at the paper, "Nah in fine here, i'll come over when I finished the homework-" "Alrighty then, good luck" you say smiling before walking off. As you were walking to the table you kept wondering if what he was writing was actually homework-

*time skip*

The next class, as everyone was packing up, again you saw Jake writing in the same paper. Since he didn't turn it in last class, it can't be homework, right? This made you even more confused. Since everyone was getting up from their seats to wait by the door for the bell to ring, you decided to go up to him to ask what the paper actually was. "Jake I thought it was homework" you say laughing a bit ti hide the fact you were confused. "Oh uh it's- homework for a different class-" he quickly said putting his arm on the paper to hide it once again. "But it's on the same paper- and why are you hiding it?" you ask trying to see what the words on the paper were. "It's none of your business" he said laughing. You were getting tired of trying to figure out what it was, so you quickly tried to move his hand off of it, but he was too strong. "Move your hand lemme see!" you said laughing continuing to try to grab the paper. As his had finally got off the paper, the Aija called your name distracting you which gave him a change to grab the paper with his other hand and o it it in his backpack. "It's nothing important" he said sarcastically zipping up his bag as you gave up and walked to the table.

You were kind of annoyed that you were so close to knowing what it was, but planned to interrogate him into telling you what it was after school. If it's not homework, then what could it be?

*time skip*

After school finally arrived and you and your friends were walking down the parking lot as usual having conversations. While you're friends were talking you noticed Jake about to go to his car. You remembered the paper he was writing on and still wanted to know what it was. As you saw him get his keys from his pocket you noticed the same paper folded on the side of his backpack pocket. You looked to make sure nobody was paying attention before snatching it from his pocket and quickly unfolded it. You laughed to yourself when you realized you finally had it causing him to turn around. "Hey how'd you get that!" he asked confused as he tried to get it from you.

You dodged him but could only read a few things before he finally snatched it from your hands. And as you put the few words you read together you were shocked at the conclusion, it was a confession letter-

"Stop stealing other peoples stuff jeeze!" Jake replied sarcastically, putting the paper in his backpack. Since your friends were walking way ahead of you, you decided to confront him about it, "Uhh, is that a love letter?" "What no why would it be a love letter?!" he quickly replied as you saw him turning red. "I literally saw the words on there" you said laughing to hide your confusion. "Well apparently you cant read" he replied sarcastically. You could tell he was hiding something, so you sigh and think for a couple seconds before finally assuring him, "Jake you know you can tell me who it's for, we're best friends, plus it's not like i'm ganna tell them" You saw a guilty look on his face as you started thinking who the love letter could be to, "Cmon you told me about all your other crushes! Why not this one?"

He looked at you with the same guilty look as before before finally saying, "Well, this one is kind of weird- cause it's-" "Hey y/n I wanted to ask you something before I leave!" you hear Albert call out from in front of you interrupting Jake. "Yea what is it?" you call back out to him. "Kaden found a new roblox game we should try out for a video" he replied smiling. "Oh alright cool! We can play after I finish homework!" you laugh before he agreed walking to his car.

"Sorry, but who is it?" you say hoping he would still tell you. He sighed before saying in an annoyed tone, "It's for Aija" "Wait what really?!" you say trying to process it. You were kind of confused on why he acted annoyed at it, but ignored it, "Wait when did you find out you like her?! I mean I don't think her and Jayden are getting together any time soon so you still have a chance to tell her!" "It's not that exciting" he sarcastically said laughing. "Yes it is! She most likely likes you back!" you say excitingly. "Just don't say anything ok?" he sighed. "Why do you seem so bummed about it? You guys seem perfect together!" you add confused.

"I'm just tired I guess, but i'll talk to you later" he said smiling before walking off to his car. You remembered how in the past when he used to tell you about a crush he had, he would get all excited about it, but people change I guess. "Alright see ya!" you replied fake smiling.

*time skip*

You eventually finished your homework and you called Albert afterwards. You guys recorded another video and had a lot of fun doing it. "Oh by the way, did you tell Jake about the prom thing?" Albert asked while you guys were still on the phone. "Oh damnit I forgot, I was talking to him about his letter" you blurred out not thinking of what you said, "I mean- not letter-" you added realizing what you said. "What letter?" he asked confused. "For school" you quickly responded hoping he would get off of the topic. "What subject?" he asked again. You knew he was only asking this since he knew you were lying, so you tried to make it more believable, "For his elective computer class, duh" ".. We don't take computer class anymore, that stopped in 10th grade." he said laughing at you. You were immediately embarrassed and wanted to change the subject, "Well uh- anyways don't you think the weather so far is great!"

"So he told you not to tell anyone about it huh" he replied as you started to panic, "Uhh, no-?" "I'm kidding i'm kidding, I respect his secret, so if he doesn't want to tell anyone other than you it's fine" he replied laughing. You sigh relieved he was the type of person who wouldn't beg you to tell him, but you still kind of felt bad, so you assured him, "It's nothing that important though-" "It's fine, he's not smart enough to keep actual important secrets anyway" he said sarcastically. You laughed before replying, "Well I guess I should get going now it's almost the middle of the night, but I'll tell him tomorrow ok?" "Alright, night idiot" he said jokingly. "Night aretz" you replied in a sarcastically annoyed tone before hanging up.
