"What part of I do not need your protection do you not understand." Amos said glaring at Xander and refusing to calm down. "I would rather die than be protected by you."

Xander sighed frustrated, he could feel himself starting to shake from anger because of the stubbornness of Amos.

"This is no longer just about you and me Amos." Xander said. "If someone get's ahold of you and uses you many will die."

"I'm not stupid."

"But you're alone."

"Haven't I always?" Amos said this time his voice broke a little. No more the cold piercing voice he always has.

"Not anymore Amos." It was Belle who spoke this time. It wasn't just Xander who made a promise. She did too. Besides, ever since Ariana crossed over she has been feeling a little uneasy. Ariana always knew why Belle did what she did, and at first, Belle didn't think much of it. But now, after everything Ariana has said, her selfish reasons became heavier and heavier in her heart and she's scared to tell Xander, or anyone else for that matter.

Despite that, she really wanted to protect Amos. That, at least was genuine and true. But with Amos not wanting to do anything with Xander and refusing his help. She must not remain quiet.

"You are not alone anymore Amos." She said again and Amos turned to look at her.

"I am more alone now than I ever was before Belle." Amos said. "I could always feel my sister's spirit and I know she was always watching over me. But not anymore. So how can you tell me that I am no longer alone?"

"Because you never were." Kai answered this time, and everyone turned to him. "You were not alone then, you are not alone now. With Ariana gone you will be in constant threat. You already know how far those who wanted that power will go just to have it. We need their help Amos."

"How long?" Amos ask turning to Xander. "If I accept your help, how long do you intend to keep me here so you could protect me? I would rather be running out there for my life, than stuck in here with people I can not trust."

"Just until we caught the people behind the death of your parents." Xander said.

"What makes you think that there's someone behind that attack?" Amos asked narrowing his eyes at the Alpha.

"Because rogues don't make plans Amos." He answered. "They attack on instinct without a care about who they are attacking. Based on what I heard from your sister, it was clear that those rogues were sent on your family. They know the kind of power flowing in your veins."

Amos remained quiet after that. His eyes fixed on Xander though it was pretty clear that his mind is somewhere else. Amos already suspected that much. That they were targeted, and his parents were killed because of someone lurking behind the shadows. After all, despite his raving hatred for Xander, he didn't just use all his time as a council member to focus solely on his revenge. There is a much bigger picture laying before his eyes and Xander is not the only one in it.

"Fine." Amos said finally. "I'll wait. You can do whatever you needed to do and I will remain inside your pack. But let me make things clear for you Alpha. You may have made your peace with Ariana and your past. But that does not change the way I think about you and your kind. I will wait for as long as I could, but I am not a very patient man."

Xander scoffed and grinned amusedly Amos. No matter how much he tries to look like a cold hearted man, he still looks like a lost boy.

"I know." Xander agreed.

"Feels like it's been a long time since we lay down this bed without thinking about anything but us."
