Chapter 51 - Gone Girl

Xander awoke with a start and sat right up. He looked around the bedroom and realized that the sun is already peaking thru the window curtains but he knew it's still early.. How long was he asleep? He thought to himself and then lied back down and turned to look at the space beside him only to sat back up again when he realized that Belle was not there.

"Belle?" He called thinking that she might be at the bathroom.

No answer.

Sighing he decided to get up completely.

"I thought I told her already to wake me up when she does." He said talking mostly to himself.

Xander went out the bedroom straight to the kitchen and found it empty. Infact he could feel the whole Alpha Suite being empty of anyone else's existence beside him.

"Where is she?" he heard Windom ask but he ignored it and quickly opened the pack link.

"Aoi?" he called thru the link.

"Alpha Xander!" Aoi answered quickly surprised at Xander calling so early in the morning.

"Is Maia with you?" Xander asked.

"Yes." Aoi answered confused. "Why are you asking? Do you need any help?"

"No." Xander answered feeling the genuine concern in the voice of his Beta. "Could you do me a favor and go check on Kai and Amos please."

"Of course Alpha. I'll go right away."

"Thank you."

Xander quickly closed his link with Api and opened up the link to the border patrol.

"Sora." He called.

"Alpha?" The gamma answered. "Good morning, can I help you?"

"Was there any disturbance at the border?" He asked.

"No Alpha." Sora answered. "It has been a completely peaceful night. In fact I'm about to turn over to the next patrol now."

"Nothing at the gate either?"

"No Alpha." Sora answered worried. "I was at the gate myself. Is something wrong?"

"I can't find Belle." Xander said. "She's not inside the pack territory."

"What?" Sora exclaimed shocked. "But that's impossible. If she went out the border we would have felt it if not seen it."

"Or not." Xander said feeling his worries grow stronger now. "Could you ask the next patrol to looked thru the parts of the border hidden from view for any signs of anyone being near it."

"I'll do it myself Alpha." Sora said.

"Thank you."

Closing his link with Sora, Xander opened up another one.

"Kyle."

"Xander?" he heard Kyle answer on the other end of the link. "To what do I owe the pleasure of your early morning call?"

Xander could hear him drinking and then asked.

"Is Belle with you?"

Kyle almost choked at whatever it is he was drinking. And took quite a moment before he managed to speak again.

"No." Kyle said. "Why would she be with me? Why would she be with anyone without your knowledge?"

Xander didn't answer his question he was quiet for a while until Kyle spoke again.

"Did you fight?"

"No."

"Did something else happen?"
